I'm still really surprised Rabbit Hole hasn't been played live yet.

 

I haven't been here in a few weeks so did we already discuss this? How cute is this? They're so happy.
Travis playing bass, mark playing guitar, matt playing drums.

 

We did cover it but its awesome, great to see them having so much fun. But holy hell does Travis look weird with a bass on him.

 

I think the way radio DJs would talk about BTD before the release ended up in me disappointed I guess. I feel like I would like the album better as a whole if they would've let the album speak for itself

 

According to radio DJs Matt only sung harmonies on this album lol. Most of them sounded like they hadn't actually heard the thing

Hate to break it you guys but unless Feldmann has a falling out with the band he's probably gonna be their producer for all of their future albums.

 

I may be alone but if California is anything to go by I'm ok with that

 

I would be totally fine with that too, Feldmann has proven he can produce many different styles/genres over his career so I feel they can go back to him and write a very different record than California and have it turn out great.

 

Since blink has been playing "Kings of the Weekend" on tour I've been listening to it more and it's really grown on me. The first couple of listens I thought it was a filler song (along with Teenage Satellites and The Only Thing That Matters) but I really enjoy it now.

 

Teenage Satellites has really grown on me too... I'm sorry. It just has. TOTTM is still a filler song to me, as well as Rabbit Hole. But I never skip them. I'm just enjoying the album, overall. Perfect for this summer weather! It will be interesting to see how often I go back to it in the fall/winter.

I don't dislike any of the songs on the album, obviously some are stronger than others but I don't skip any of the songs either. I also agree about Rabbit Hole. The band and Feldmann hyped that song up so much and it's a fine song but definitely one of the weaker ones.

 

I wouldn't mind them doing another with Feldmann - especially if they go "let's branch out" rather than "we need to write a pop-punk album" - but I'll be very sad if we never get a Bill Stevenson blink album. Especially given he's worked with Matt before.

 

How many albums do you think blink has left? I would guess 1 more blink album, 2 max not counting the EP later this year. Mark is 44... don't see him still touring when he's 50+. Matt's Alkaline Trio duties will create long dark periods with blink.

December 2016 - blink EP
Spring 2017 blink Euro/maybe Australian tour
Rest of 2017 Matt returns to the Trio
2018 - Spring - Matt in Trio
2018 - Summer - blink begins to record again
2019 Spring new blink album
rest of 2019 blink tour into Spring of 2020 (Mark would be 48 at this point)
Beyond 2020 - RIP blink

I'm sure Tom will fall in here to complicate things or slow things down legally... I don't ever seeing him returning - Mark hates him

 

I think they will keep releasing music for a very long time. Touring will probably slow down, but I don't see why they would bother to stop writing and releasing albums.

 

Is there a confirmed ep this year??

Anyways, I think Tom will definitely be back at some point. There is too much money on the table, and he is probably legally entitled to return whenever he wants.

For me, the ideal would be Tom recording with Blink while Matt is working with Trio. I think it would be cool for there to be two versions of Blink haha.

Either way, Tom will eventually be back.

 

I just don't see he and Mark ever getting along together... even trying to fake it for an album

I get what you are saying, but I also don't see Tom allowing Mark and Travis to go make money on tour performing his songs without some kind of legal stipulation that he could return at any point.

 

The fact that Mark and Travis are doing that already seems to indicate that either Tom can't do anything, or something was already worked out. Maybe not. Maybe Tom is just sitting back and not doing anything about it. But it just seems unlikely.

 

Yeah that's what I was saying. Something was worked out where Tom could finish all of his projects and come back in 2017/2018 while Matt was working with Trio.
