Can see this working with more polished production. This band holds a special place in my heart and this is a catchy song, but I can't see myself spinning this loads with such a lacklustre mix.

    Aaaachem!

The vocal effect is the only thing I found odd, I thought the instruments and over tone sound great.

Oh it's most likely a personal taste thing - I'm just not digging the drums or guitars at all.

Is it me or does the snare sound border line terrible?

Really like the song. It's obviously just a demo. Would sound great with full production.

those who can't do, reemerge after half a decade!!!

  10. It does, it has the same production value as their split with Transit.

The song is also reminding me of what I loved about them in the first place. As the full lenghts didn't live up to their early releases, I'm kind of surprised by this song tho

Is just me or did these guys peak with Real Talk?

the old eps, How We Met, I ate my glue stick, the absolute worst, and most of Real Talk are all awesome. The self-titled was so fucking cheesy (even for them) and I haven’t liked anything from the latter albums either.

  14. That early acoustic album remains my favorite release + Montrose + the Taking Back Sunday sounding song on the Transit split

The only release of theirs I never got into was the last album. This fucking rips though so I'm all about it.

Definitely think the production is off though.

    Aaaachem!

They said on their newsletter or whatever you call it that they made it back in December with no intention of releasing this version. I'm guessing they decided it would be cool since we're all at home twiddling our thumbs.

Honestly I thought their Self Titled album had some rippers on it back when it came out. Admittedly I haven't listened to it/them in years.

Yeah, he reminds me of Jordan Pundik in the sense that his voice isn't love-or-hate so much as it is tolerate-or-hate.

Jordan is definitely better, but most people I've talked to that don't like NFG cite the vocals as the main reason why they can't get into them.

I think Jordan’s voice is endearing and most fans of the band would disagree with your stateMent!

Jordan's voice has gotten much better over the years though.

Why would they release a demo after 5 years of silence? and from what I know their bassist is a sound engineer, he would probably do some "full production" on the track for free in one day or so - safe to assume, this is not a demo. It's just a mix that you might not like. Maybe they tried to capture a more skate punk sound of the drums or something, I don't know.

    haha ;D I don't know what to say ;D

I was just trying to make a remark that we shouldn't put it down as a demo, since it's totally not - I personally liked it and thought it's cool of them to release a new song, even though I'm not a MO fan! So my question was more likely rhetorical, it's not like I thought it was wrong of them to release that - I just thought not everybody might like that mix, bit it is "fully produced", I suppose.
