Justified is incredible. Love seeing all the Deadwood people show up. The only dip in quality is season 5 I think.

 

Season five always seems to be when otherwise incredible shows take a dip.

 

We’re about to watch the wire because my girlfriend has never seen it but we might start justified after that.

Watched all of Mythic Quest today and really liked it for the most part, especially the episode with Jake Johnson which came out of nowhere but was fantastic. Legitimately totally different feel from Sunny too, I'm super impressed

Looks like after this free year of Apple TV runs out I'll have to reup for a month a year when this show comes back

 

I keep forgetting to watch Mythic Quest, gotta do that soon

This Mifune 100 month has ruled. Takashi Shimura was generally my favorite Kurosawa performer because of Ikiru, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the relative mainstream celebration of Mifune this year. The Big Picture did a solid retrospective on his career.

 

Yojimbo is probably my favourite of his. Big fan of most of their work together though, he's got such a great on screen presence.

Just finished Tales From The Loop. Would highly recommend.

 

Downloaded the HBO GO/NOW app and it is horrendous. They don’t have anything that tells you what’s free or not so you either have to pull up the list separately on your phone / laptop or just select something and find out if it plays or not.

also the search function is hilariously awful. No keyboard screen? Really? Just a row of the alphabet and numbers? Eesh. Thought HBO would have their shit together better than that.

 

my HBONow app has a section on the homepage with “watch free with no subscription” right at the top. Using the fire stick app.

 

Hmm, I’ll have to try that. I downloaded the app straight to my tv and that one is horrendous.

 

Watched first 3 episodes of Barry. Not sure what I think yet

 

Stick with it. I watched the first two, slept, then watched the next fourteen in a row without ever getting out of bed.

 

Watched the first episode and was so fascinated by it, hope to get the rest watched in the next few days.

 

I figured it was something that takes a bit to find it's footing.

The episodes/seasons are so short that the time commitment isn't much so that's definitely a plus as well.

 

Barry is awesome. Noho Hank is the best.
