Hopefully no Catholics will read this, but seriously, Catholic dogma has a lot of blocks attached to it that will chase most believers of God away and nearly all have been implemented in the church for various reasons that are not scriptural. If you're really feeling down and want to go that route, I'd recommend just reading the New Testament for yourself and leaving any conceptions that Catholicism left on you out the window. At least for your sake. My PMs are also open anytime.

 

So I've read in a few different places that if you're being very cautious you should wipe down deliveries and groceries. Wipe them down with what? The cardboard box, the contents? It's all just fueling my anxiety. Yesterday I went down and got my mail and put a package or two down in my closet. Planning on leaving them in there for 24-48hrs before I touch them haha but do we really need to be wiping down groceries, etc? It makes me feel like nothing is safe and I can't even open the bread to make a sandwich without being paranoid....am I crazy?

 

Yeah I’m sure it’s just the end of an upper respiratory infection. But man it sucks.

Yeah this whole "wipe down all your groceries but good luck finding any Clorox wipes" thing is anxiety inducing. Oh well, already did a big shop last Thursday in a crowded store and put everything away

 

I get it man, like I said above, I was in much the same position a few weeks ago. Just horrific. Hope it goes away sooner rather than later.

Depending on where you live (I'm in the middle of downtown Raleigh so this is what I do) I would just put your groceries on the counter once you get home and immediately wash your hands before anything else. Then go about putting groceries where they go. Just run your produce under warm water before you eat them and wash your hands before you eat and utensils before/after you use them.

If anything, it will be forgetting to clean phones or people touching their phone while they eat.

 

For bringing some reason to an exaggerated statistic and trying to be a bit positive in a storm of panic I'm an asshole?!

Thank you for that. That's basically what I've been doing. Super glad I bought a "phone soap" (UV device to sanitize your phone and other small items) last year and got one for my parents as a gift somewhat recently too. Been putting my phone in that thing every other hour and I haven't even left my apartment haha. Isopropyl alc. wipes are good for wiping your phone on the go too.

Isn't the convention only like a week after that? Seems like if states need to extent past that date, the convention would have to be pushed back as well. DNC is definitely in a tough bind here moving the convention back is no simple feat giving the election itself isn't moving.

 

Maybe the entire country could agree to stop paying loans starting tomorrow

I mean, the problem is what you said isn’t very factually correct. It’s fair to say MOST people will be “okay” but we’re actually hearing a lot of cases of younger, healthy people also needing ICU stays because of this. They’re not dying but it still is intensive care and bad situations that could turn south. And we still don’t know the possible long term effects of this. There was already some early indications in China that some folks are having more longer term problems with lung functioning after recovery.

In other words, even in the best case scenarios, it’s still too early to declare that young healthy folks shouldn’t worry. Not even counting the part where they can infect other, vulnerable folks without even knowing it.

 

And yet Idris Elba can get tested with no symptoms. This country is fucked
