Lingua Ignota - Caligula (July 21st, 2019)

AOTY contender inbound, let's fucking GO

 

I just discovered her last night. I haven’t gone back to the last album, but these singles are stunning. I don’t listen to much extreme/noise music, but this really feels like a project taking those ideas to completely new places. Very eager to hear the whole record.

 

Finally getting round to listening to this. Only half way through the second track, but fuck me, if the rest of the album continues in this vein, this is gonna be an AOTY contender.

 

Just finished listening. It wasn't as noisy as I thought it was going to be. It's good. It's really good. But i'd have preferred it to have been a little more harsh in places.

This album is great. I actually discovered her through this album and am now a fan!

 

I discovered this today and I’ve never been more captivated by anything or anyone on first listen, oh my god. I feel like this was made for me.

 

Caligula Flag This is cool!

 

Been revisiting this more recently. I definitely didn't take it in properly on my first listen because this is so much more powerful than I remembered. It's a tough listen in places, but it's also an essential listen. She really spills her guts and it's better for it.

 

Def gonna be in my top 5 at the end of the year, though I haven't listened to it near as much as my other favorites. Sometimes it's too much. If The Poison Won't Take You My Dogs Will as a highlight for sure.

 

This record is still insane. I also don’t come back to it a ton because it is a lot but that by no means it is a bad record.
