Didn't expect an extra long episode! Definitely a great one.

Love this show so much

 

This show hits all the right spots

like it has me yearning for a balcony beer right now

 

Even though it's a prequel I still do not know how things are going to play out which is definitely a rare thing for prequel stories. So glad they decided to do this spin-off.

 

I bet he's going to manage a cinabon

My buddy missed the broadcast airing so he went to stream it on the AMC website, and the thumbnail was of Hank and Gomey.

 

definitely more of a transitional episode but even this show's lesser episodes are fantastic

can someone explain that cold open to me though. maybe I shouldn't watch this shit at 4am but it had me crying laughing

 

Idk I think it's a pretty big deal that Saul has re entered Nachos world, its going to make big ripples in everyone's lives

 

They were in most of the pre-season commercials

 

I knew it was them as soon as the camera focused on the government license plate outside of the police station

 

What a god damn fucking episode.

Watching Hank and Gomez talking with Saul was like TV series porn. I was so happy watching it.

The casting choice for the older gentlemen was tremendous, I read he's a pretty established actor already. Loved those scenes and Kim absolutely continues to impress me after not being a fan of her at all the first season or two.

@Rowan5215 this isn't my own material I did some reading on the episode after watching, basically, Saul had something good and sweet with this new Saul Goodman deal hence the ice cream, then as soon as Nacho and Lalo pulled into the picture he threw it away and it completely taken over by those ants, signifying him ruining the sweet thing he had going for him.

 

while I agree, some things are unavoidable, I've seen a ton of articles floating around today with the info in the headline itself

 

Absurd how good this show is

 

I loved the intro of the third episod

 

Was anyone feeling foreshadowing with Kim/ bottles balancing on the ledge

 

lol I was like barely conscious when I started the episode and I was freaking out like WHY IS THE CAMERA RETURNING TO THIS BOTTLE SO MUCH

I think the bookend at the end pretty much tied that symbolism off though. shows how you can go from having the illusion of control to absolutely none in 24 hours' time

 

I can't believe it's only been one week and we are 30% through the season already.

 

That shot was so nice

 

Jimmy pulling in in his shitty Esteem when Saul had his best day, later Kim pulling in in her Audi, same exact angle when she just had probably her least satisfying day, this show is so perfect

 

Man, Mike is such a badass. Him breaking that dude’s arm in front of all of his mugger buddies was some cool shit.

 

I'm starting to think we'll never find out what happens to Kim. Or if her and Jimmy's relationship will ever end. I think it may end up being the one big open ended conversation that never gets answered when this series is all said and done.

I think the obvious thing that will happen is Kim is just going to quit her job and leave town. It's fairly obvious she's not enjoying doing the work for Mesa Verde and she seems to be struggling/not with it with her other clients and she's clearly not into Jimmy transforming into Saul, so I could see her just kind of up and leaving and we don't see/hear from her again at some point in the series.

I think the dark horse is that she gets killed somehow by Lalo or someone in his crew to show Saul how serious they are about his needed involvement...but honestly, that seems like a stretch to me and I'm not sure they'll go down the brutal route.

I'm way ahead of myself here, but I could see the series finale being Gene holed up in some shitty apartment in no man's land and he's talking to a woman but we never find out if it's Kim or someone else. Obviously, pure speculation.

 

I will be incredibly shocked if we don't find out what happens to Kim

 

We'll definitely find out what happens, and I don't think it's going to be anything positive for her. You have to think, IF she was just alive and living in the regular world, she would have existed somehow in Breaking Bad. I think the way this prequel show exists is that she is going to have to end the series either dead, in protective services, disappeared without a trace leaving Jimmy, there's a lot of options...

 

In bold is more along the lines of what my original post was about.

 

The line of her being from a small town on the Kansas Nebraska border is way too damn specific when Gene is in Omaha.
