I posted this in the FF thread but I'll post here too.

 

I really hope I like the combat more than FFXV

 

The demo reservation line at PAX was capped in under 25 minutes each day and I was bummed I didn't get to try it, but the universe provides!

 

Does anybody know how they are charging for the FFVII Remake? Like is it a one time $60 payment when the first part comes out or are they charging $60 per installment? Don't know if it's officially been announced.

 

$60 per installment I assume since they said both are the size of full games

 

They'll be charging $60 for each part without a doubt

 

That sucks.

 

They're adding a lot of stuff in and have said each part is a full length game

 

I feel like they should offer bundles off the bat though

I know it'd be a nightmare to manage but it's also just funny imagining someone going through the effort to get like the "Ultimate Mega Collectors Edition" or whatever for 1 part and not being able to get it for the other part, I'm sure there are people out there who would pay good money up front for both

But yeah I'd also imagine it'd be hard to trust SE to manage that kind of advance preordering so I get it

 

I'd give up a years salary for the games.



SE is greedy af though and absolutely are gonna just charge full price for however many parts they release.

Do we know if it's going to be more than 2 parts? I kind of just assumed it will be only 2 parts.

That is also true! Yeah while I think about it there are so many logistical nightmares involved with bundling the 2 unless it was under the pretense of being a PS5 bundle and allowing your PS4 part 1 to upgrade to PS5 version at time of release. It seems impossible for a number of reasons, that being 1. With that said I do think they should provide a way to maybe get early dibs on part 2 depending on how you ordered part 1 or something, idk. This is all me spitballing but SOMETHING like that would make sense

I’ve been playing through all the Dragon Age games so here’s my opinions on those. These opinions will probably be bad but idk

Origins/Awakening: before I go any further I want to say I truly love this game....that said it’s got a lot of faults that I think Rose tinted glasses have helped cover. I played all 3 of these games as a mage so the combat was alright for the most part. The companion AI can be baffling but tactical view helps alleviate that. The story is pretty great but some of the companion quests are kinda duds and the companions in general are kind of a mixed bag. Morrigan and Alistar are absolute standouts but then there’s Oghren and Sten who are just kinda there. The difficulty spikes can be frustrating too. Aside from that it was a treat going through it again, I think this was my 5th playthrough? Something like that. Awakening was great and could almost be it’s own game. The additional dlcs are fun, I especially like playing as Darkspawn and seeing the story from the other side. 9/10

Dragon Age 2: it’s taken time but I’ve finally come around to enjoying this game. I like my Hawke, sure he’s just DAs version of Shepard but I like his story, and I like playing as Hawke. The companions are kinda bleh, there’s some standouts like Varric, Isabella, Merrill, but then there’s duds like Anders, the dlc guy who I didn’t even bother remembering, and your sibling who is absolutely insufferable. I like the smaller story leading to a larger world consequence of DA2 but I hate the repetition of zones. I like the more streamlined leveling but I hate not being able to really customize my companions gear. I like the story but I hate some of the story beats and I really hate when the game gives me an option to say something but then when I pick that option Hawke says it differently or words it in a way that I didn’t think of while making the choice. Dlcs are ok. 7/10

Inquisition: here’s where I probably get controversial maybe idk I never rly engage with BioWare games fan bases. This is my favorite of the 3 and easily one of my favorite BioWare games. I think it succeeds where ME3 failed in that it does a better job of showing your decisions and the outcomes of those decisions from previous games. Even though it’s like a 4 year old game I’ll spoiler tag some stuff like having Hawke and Alistar come back and help you in the fade was so cool and made my jaw drop the first time I saw them. Having to sacrifice one of them genuinely got to me. Also little things like if you sacrifice Cole in Origins the people of Redcliffe will chat about it when you walk by them, you can even find a letter from your Warden character in Origins which is a nice touch. Ofc seeing Morrigan and her son if you decide to do the ritual is a gut punch, as is learning more about Leliana and her involvement with the Divine stories great, not quite as good as Origins, but the Companions are overall more quality than the other two games. There’s no one quite as standout as Morrigan but Cassandra, Iron Bull, Sera, Dorian, Cole, Varric, Solas, Vivienne, and Blackwall are all great and I just realized that’s all the companions whoops. Biggest issue with this game is the pc controls but with some remapping it’s tolerable. 9.5/10

Inquisition is amazing

 

Inquisition was easily GOTY 2014 for me. Nothing else came close. The negative reception it seemed to get from people baffled me to no end. It's a really great game.

 

I’m still sad it did not get enhanced for One X. It’s still 900p which is rough.

Also I’d LOVE a Switch port.
