Really enjoyed Bioshock, the first 2 at least. Had that creepy feel about them. Really liked the concept and the gameplay until I got confused with Infinite.

 

First is fine. Infinite is a joke

 

Yeah, adore the first two. Never played Infinite because a city in the sky seems so much more stupid and cartoonish to me than Rapture. I know it’s dumb to look at it that way given both are equally daft, but Rapture has this thick atmosphere of decay and darkness that a bright city in the sky can’t possibly recreate imo. Plus, the very real threat of the world collapsing and being lost to sea is pretty scary, as well as the feeling of isolation from the outside world.

Also the companion stuff. No. Ain’t interested. All the skyhook stuff? Nah. The time-travelling crap? Not for me. Not when I know BioShock for what it was.

For me BioShock’s atmosphere along with the fucking fantastic narratives from audio diaries and characters just won’t be beaten by Infinite. Plus the soundtrack! Unfff yes. Love it. Absolutely brilliant.

 

Atomic Hearts looks so much like how I imagined a new BioShock would appear, so I’m very, very interested in it.

 

I hope they reveal the new bioshock this year, but that’s prob a year or two away.

 

Yeah, it’s great they’ve announced it but it’s such a lacklustre announcement with nothing to show for it. Hoping for at least a teaser just so we have a basic concept of what’s planned. So far all we have is ‘it’s being made, has been in production since 2015 but was rebooted at some point in 2016.’ Like you’d think they’d be able to show something or say more by now.

 

Rapture is a cooler setting than Columbia. Also, Infinite really tried with the idea of jingoistic America in the sky but the game lacked the spine to make that concept actually interesting and thought provoking

 

While I’m on a hot take roll:

-RE: Code Veronica is one of the worst games in the series.
-Dark Souls and the like are hard because of bad game design and to git gud with them is just memorizing where the AI shits itself.
-Obsidian are great storytellers but bad developers
-Nintendo gets too much of a free pass among the gaming community for doing shit that other companies would get flamed for doing.

 

I definitely think Souls type games need a major rehaul. I remember being surprised at how dated Sekiro felt. Idk why I expected such a leap forward but it did feel like any other From game with a different aesthetic and fighting style.

 

Or you could post anything other than a reaction gif lmao it’s fine not agreeing with something but maybe expand on that? Otherwise it just comes across as condescending

Aright done with Fallen Order. Really enjoyed it, but mah gawd just some baffling design choices. Plus the technical hiccups. Had to finally change the difficulty to Jedi Knight on that last boss. Overall respawn is 3/3 of the games I’ve played from them. Gonna download Control cuz my gamesharer did, but leaving my PS4 for a while to make progress on my switch.

Probs gonna pull the trigger on FE, Atral Chain, and possibly XC2 next weekend. BotW, and Smash Ultimate are my two mainstays on my Switch atm.

 

You’ll have to fight me in Smash for that

Infinite is a really pretty but in terms of gameplay mediocre corridor shooter

 

The only thing I remember from infinite was the beach scene was really cool
