they just did anniversary shows together. I’d assume they’re fine.

 

I’d always figured there were lots of factors. Burnout from touring, Alex L. Starting his own business (Tiger Cuts I believe it’s called), obviously Brian’s personal situation had changed and although friends I am guessing it adds a layer to his situation with Alex L., I think some of the guys had kids as well in this window. Life and family is a huge factor at that age when Gaslight took a break.

The fact they could all go on tour together definitely still implies that they can still get along. Sometimes the thing you had together just can’t be a thing anymore. Some of members are still making music. Some together, some not.

I do hold out hope they could work together again, but I’d imagine anything would be in smaller doses. If they don’t, I won’t fault them. I still hold them in high regard and have loved Brian’s work.

 

Brian literally said in an interview “i feel like we said all we wanted to say with gaslight” and that hed rather hang it up than put out music for the sake of doing so.

 

Yeah I don’t actually expect new Gaslight music ever again, despite it being my #1 music wish.

Their end made total sense. 2007-2014/15 was just total non stop touring and writing albums. They would write an album, tour for 2 years, new album, tour, etc.

Eventually you get burnt out from doing that, on top of some band members beginning to have kids + families and others going through difficult family situations.

The accumulation of being burnout, having new personal priorities, and a really bad reaction to your last album is a good point to stop and focus elsewhere. Thankfully all of them are still writing and playing music.

I really like. Brian’s choice and description for album title for this style (based on the single and what I’m expecting).

it’s also cool to hear how he played with the songs to see what speed or delivery worked best. I think Local Honey is going to sound like more of what I expected from him in the Molly and the Zombies era post gaslight. Sort of a long time coming but not so far away.

I do hope being independent gives him the freedom to keep trying new things musically and stylistically still under the Brian Fallon umbrella. I’d love to hear those other 4 songs he wrote or the faster versions he mentioned. I don’t want to have to wait 20 years like he jokes, but maybe as a separate EP or something when the time is right.

That’s sad and pathetic. I am curious where and what page, but a part of me doesn’t care as well. The intent of a person who posts such a thing is to generate a reaction. I’m not out looking for that.

There is way too much “my way is the only way” in the world and internet bullying and I want no part of it. People always have the right to disagree, but try and be respectful instead of all this attack mode stuff.

Appreciate the heads up. I am really curious what they’re saying, but I don’t think any good response from me will come of it and I hope the people who run this site shut that kind of dialogue down.

Really, I enjoy this site for the music news, sharing of new music and hearing feedback from other bands. For example, I probably would have known about that Brian Fallon article any other way. Local Honey news was announced here in these forums even before I saw anything from his twitter. Thats the stuff I enjoy.

21 Days is absolutely beautiful.

Again in this article Brian mentions working on different versions, and playing with tempo. This song would absolutely work as well faster, slower or right where it is because it’s a good song at the core which is huge.

 

I told myself to wait because with only 8 songs I want the album to feel fresh. I failed and I am happier as a result.

Man what a song. This album is going to be incredible.

 

Listened once because "You Have Stolen My Heart" left me a little underwhelmed. This song is beautiful. Definitely some National vibes with the vocals in the first verse.
