Was in London last week and my buddy’s roommate offered me a spliff, to which I said no. Ten minutes later she goes, “I need to lay down, I am so stoned”.

So basically London Drugs taught me a lesson and prevented me from ending up doing something I didn’t want to do.

 

What did it take to fix her up afterwards?

 

i would assume a 9 hour nap and a fridge raid afterwards lol

This probably seems obvious but just wanted to say this album is so damn Pennsylvanian.

 

I would agree with this. A lot of thematic similarities to American Slang, and a lot of sonic similarities to Handwritten.

 

Anyone going to that Philly show at Boot and Saddle on 1/16?

 

Somehow I missed this was happening.

 

It’s very understandable since it was announced as on sale and happening on Christmas.

 

Fully expecting the Boot & Saddle show to be one of the best shows ever. Especially since it’s a set full of songs they don’t typically play live

Did not think I’d be seeing Menz in a 150 cap room anytime soon and especially in Philly

America is tied with Losers by Spanish Love Songs for my song of 2019. Partly because it's just a damn good song but partly because those two songs lyrically really capture how 2019 has felt

Listening to this record in full again today, and I gotta say, I think this may be my favorite overall collection of Tom songs to date. He killed it here.

 

Yeah this album is great front to back. I'm kinda bummed it hasn't been received with as much enthusiasm as it deserves. ATP was always going to be a fan fav because it is great of course but also it played as a return to form after the different sounding Rented World. Tough to follow that up and maintain the hype, but HE is deserving of more. Clearly their third best album for mine (after OTIP and ATP) and probably my album of 2019.
