IAAN is fucking awesome and I like it more than most of Daisy.

I don't understand the obsession with needing Brand new to be "weird" or "crazy". I want them to make music I can either 1. Relate to, or 2. Have a good time listening to. IAAN hits both of those chords for me. It's okay to have songs with a couple verses, a couple choruses, and a bridge. Not everything has to be Daisy or Out of Range (probably my two favorite tracks from the Daisy era)

I wish that I at least found I Am A Nightmare to be catchy. That chorus is grating, man

IAAN is a weak song lyrically and musically IMO.

It would be funny if they made a video for IAAN. I wonder what it would be like.

I imagine it would be something cryptic enough to piss people off at just the right level where they get more obsessed with the band instead of ditching them entirely.

Just saw them in Dallas. The best I've ever seen them. They have never had so much energy. Jesse was so lively. He was dancing through out the show, did this scooting thing, had huge leg kicks, and was constantly moving like I've never seen. At one point Jesse took Vin's guitar and hung it from the top of his head and started playing it.

Also, Brian did one of the coolest stick flips in the middle of a fill during Sic Transit. The other drummer started cracking up when he saw it.

I thought they were really into it in Nashville the other night. Jesse dedicated it to his wife and daughter before they played it.

I really genuinely love I Am A Nightmare, but in the wake of the reworked demos and Out Of Range, it's seeming weirder to me. Like the song itself, it's not that weird... But the reworked and rereleased stuff seem so much more layered and have more going on in them in terms of studio or production effects that IAAN seems sparse in comparison. It makes it really stand out to me, that it's straightforward on pretty much every level.

I think it's because they are just trying to get the record done and put out. I don't expect another album like Devil and God in terms of layers and instrumentation. I don't feel like their hearts are in it enough anymore to give us something of that quality. But who knows really? Maybe they just wanted to go with straight forward production just because they want to make a simple straight forward record.

I don't know about that - why put all that effort into the demos and not the long-awaited famed final LP? I think it's taken so long because they're perfectionists about it all, not because they're not into it anymore.

I'm pretty sure P!MT is starting to ship preorders. Didn't get a notification, but MyUSPS shows I have a media mail package coming from Philadelphia, and it's the only preorder that is set to ship around now.

Usually they ship from NY. I'm okay with them shipping though. Ready to hold these things in my hands and give them some good spins.

  21. I hope the new and last album is just them re-recording all of Your Favorite Weapon, haha.

As long as they turn it into a jazz album, I'd be fine with it.

No Seatbelt Song live Daisy era is one of the best things ever - if I could have any brand new song re-recorded I would pick that one.
