I sort of agree, but they're all bad anyway

you don't like Paramore? That's surprising to me.

 

Nah I meant TBS, must have accidentally posted right after someone else. Paramore's decent, though I consider them another overrated band in the vein of FOB, even though I like both somewhat

 

Taking Back Sunday isn't that good but yeah, New Again is probably their best. Though I may just think that cause Everything Must Go is easily their best song.

 

That makes more sense. I think Paramore's a good band, I wouldn't call them a favourite or anything but I think they've consistently gotten better so I'm pretty excited to hear what they do next.

 

They're definitely a band for me that I'll listen to whatever they put out, but I'm not really going to anticipate it super hard.

 

I think I can look at each Paramore album and say I genuinely like each one. But they still haven't made the record where 100% of it clicks for me. Riot! is their catchiest and BNE is their most consistent and overall tightest record, but both have a few songs that run together in the album for me. And then Self-Titled is just a few less songs from being a perfect record--it's just over bloated.

I've said this before, but I really hope they continue in a darker alternative route with this next record.

Fuck vinyl records. Going back to an ancient format that is more expensive, harder to take care of, and worse at accurately reproducing the original master (especially for modern albums that have digital masters) is crazy, and I hate that so many bands prioritize vinyl over CD now. Can't get a CD of Ascend/Descend, Nice As Fuck, Dunsmuir, Nomad Stones, No Machine, latest Retox, all the recent Brand New rarities, latest Dustin Kensrue, etc. etc. etc., but I can get some lovely overpriced vinyl variants! Ooh, swirls!

I love cassettes. They're cheap to buy and to produce, and you can do cool variant stuff that is generally harder to pull off with CD's. I grew up taking a tape player to school starting in kindergarden, so the more "affected" (some would say worse) sound makes me feel all nostalgic.

My ex stole all of my CDs that I listened to and left me with the stuff I bought when I was 12 and 13. I'm not even bothering trying to restart my collection. Only vinyl for me.

 

Never got the hype for the Paramore S/T record around here, thought it was really bad outside of like 3 songs, Overy-long and self-indulgent.

BNE is their peak record.

 

I would consider Future and Part II to be two of their best songs. They're real jammers.

 

I am terrible at organizing CDs so it could take me like half an hour to find a specific one

 

Future is a fucking awesome Paramore song, damn. Not close to their best, but a hell of a way to close out a record and pretty much blew my mind seeing it live. Turn It Off and Careful top my favorite Paramore songs list though.

New Again isn't all the way as bad as people make it out to be, but Cut Me Up Jenny is definitely the worst song they'd released at that point. I'd easily put WYWTB and LN over it, and probably tie it with TAYF.

 

Riot was good.

 

Still Into You and Ain't It Fun are my favorite Paramore songs, I also love her work on Stay the Night and Airplanes

 

Jealous. It's just a song I didn't expect them to include on the record. I imagine some of their newer fans were like...wtf is this? Those guitars wail at the end.

 

I really, really miss Scary Kids Scaring Kids. Would've loved to hear a follow-up to their S/T.

 

I can't get into State Champs. Doesn't click for me at all.

Whew.

 

Went to their farewell tour with DGD. The Deep End is still a jam.
