Also I agree with the take by a previous poster that the importance of exclusives is way overrated. The vast majority of console buyers buy them for FIFA/Madden, CoD and GTA. You don’t have to like it but that’s how it is.

 

I mean once said games are announced and we know what’s coming, I’ll look into it. But rn that feels like folk are putting a lot of faith in unannounced games.

Well, I’m not, because I don’t really care either way. I however think the faith is based on the pedigree of the developers they bought. The Outer Worlds was amazing, for example. Whatever they do next is a Microsoft exclusive.

 

True. And I think Sony folk are doing the same. Aka From Software’s deal with them almost inevitably means Bloodborne 2. Obviously just depends solely on the type of games you’re after

 

Like outside of Forza, no MS property wows or intrigues me. Don’t get me wrong, MS has done cool shit like Game Pass and the accessibility controller and Phil Spector is an awesome dude who totally is the right person to lead the brand. That said, I really don’t see a true reason otherwise to go run out and buy Xbox hardware and that’s the biggest problem they have right now. It’s cool they bought studios to change that but time is gonna be the judge on that.

All I know is Sony better hope Microsoft fuck up on exclusives again this gen, because if they don’t, all of them being available day one for Game Pass is going to look awfully enticing to buyers.

 

It’s about the journey, the wonder of the world you go into, I loved that about the game. The gameplay was tight too. Now, the trolls as bosses was butt and was a flaw but it didn’t ruin the game. Plus, I was happy Christopher Judge aka Teal’c got a chance to shine.

 

Not if they can just do that on PC too, then what’s the point of buying the hardware?

 

There’s a huge market of gamers that don’t play on PC, myself included.

 

Cost and games is gonna determine whether people buy this or the PS5, simple

Your projecting your subjective opinion. The Xbox One has done very, very well. The PS4 has just done insanely well. The PS however also traditionally has more markets than Xbox, which is difficult to impossible for Microsoft to overcome, regardless of which exclusives they have. Anyway, it’s about A LOT more than exclusives, because like I said, most non-Nintendo console buyers don’t actually care. They care about FIFA, Madden, GTA, CoD etc.

Momentum matters most. Sony’s momentum this gen started because of the price and because Microsoft had a terrible unveiling as well as a delayed launch in some markets. That all happened before people argue about exclusives. What leads to momentum however is not always obvious.

 

Like the One X is powerful but if you don’t have a reason for people to run out and buy it beyond specs, then who cares?

We get it. We’re talking about next gen. We know the One’s exclusive library isn’t there. They’re taking the steps to rectify that.

Also, it was said before, but many of the best selling and most popular games each year and third party games.

 

New one! Played the original and enjoyed it. Never touched the others, except for the remaster of 3 when it was free.

 

Then why did people buy PS4s more than Xbones if that was the case?
