Christmas song is fine. Just gonna echo the guitar feels off and the "I miss fucking in the rain" line being awkward sentiments.

I've had that "Won't be sad for the sake of it" hook stuck in my head all morning.
The Chainsmokers seem like such an easy target to hate on, but they definitely write some great hooks.

It took me 8 seconds to look up the guys name. Douglas Pearce. On Wikipedia it says he’s in the Death of June and plays neofolk music.

    This is from Wikipedia:
Douglas P. is openly gay,[3] and says that 'being gay is fundamental to Death in June', and expresses discontent with this side of Death in June not being explored in interviews. He describes the lack of coverage of this as 'incredulous' [sic]. His literary influences include Yukio Mishima and Jean Genet, whom he admires 'not only because their work was brilliant but that they were also gay. It adds so much.'[4]

I don’t know anything about the guy, but to have a Japanese writer as one of your influences doesn’t scream “white sumpremist”. Could be wrong. Maybe no ones got any feedback on this because it’s inaccurate? Maybe if you post your source to what makes you think he’s associate with that group.

As for Matt, he’s seems really anti Trump....so.....

Exactly. I haven’t really seen a solid source on Matt’s association or the guy’s white supremacy in the first place. That’s why I’m asking.

The fact that there was a time in my life where I respected Matt Skiba makes me feel like such a goddamn fool

    Are You Watching Closely?

"At the time, you guys were engaging with your fans pretty actively with the Blood Pact fan club. Did seeing some negative reactions influence how you felt about the album?

Skiba: I don’t really give a shit, honestly. We do what we do. I think that is us marching to the beat of our own drum. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. If you like it, thank you for listening. If you don’t like it, I don’t fucking care."

    What an asshole

Why did you not take it a single step further and post why people are calling him a white supremacist? That's pretty shady.

    Death in June - Wikipedia

You quoting his wiki to say that he is gay and views a Japanese writer as an influence but not posting anything about his white supremacist ties is super fucked up, even for you.

  16. Out of context, I dont really see anything wrong with that quote.

But then I went and read the bit that came before this quote and got the bigger picture, and yeah, it’s definitely insensitive and assholey.

Skiba is also friends with Boyd Rice from Death in June.

Boyd Rice's reading list is on this tumblr account with a number of authors who are overtly fascist, anti-semtic and Nazi sympathizing. For example he lists Imperium by Francis Parker Yockey a seminal White Supremacist text.

the eye was not blind, he knew full-well what having him on the record meant according to that interview from last year

    Sith Lord.

Thats kinda fucked up that Skiba says ""I know where his heart is, I knew he’s not a hateful person." So the dude is actually a good guy and says stupid shit for attention or Skiba gives him a pass because he knows him personally.. which would seem to fall in line with the Argento thing...

Well I think that's what the term "Turn A Blind Eye" means, to intentionally ignore the impact of something of it doesn't allign with your personal interests.

Idk, I don't think Matt is a white supremicist, but he definitely knows on a deeper level Douglas is and supresses that instinct and buys the public line so he can keep enjoying the music, like most people who listen to problematic artists do. Which is essentially saying he places his personal comfort and friendships over the voices and safety of POC.
