I love that he switches it up. As long as that passion and voice are still in the music, its always going to sound like Brian Fallon no matter genre seeps into his music.

I also love the 1st quarter releases from him. It seems like most bands don’t have releases in March and it’s a nice way to give him the attention he deserves.

saw he was covering clapton and knopfler a lot on tour, i was expecting a pivot more to blues rock type stuff than further doubling down on americana

Re: the switch from Island, I listened to Brian on a podcast like a month ago (I can't remember which one) but I'm pretty sure he said it was his decision to leave. He definitely had at least another album on his contract but said he decided he wanted to go in a different direction and the label was cool with it. Sounds like the major label route was just not at all aligned with what he wanted for his career.

Managed to get two in the Orchestra. But holy crap between Ticketmaster crashing on me twice with tickets in checkout was beyond infuriating.

I'm really surprised by the sound of this single. He sounds so vulnerable, even more than on any other song before. I like it, can't wait to here the rest.

Oh definitely! I am in the Tewksbury/Lowell area of MA and Holyoke is nearly 2 hours away where as Portland is roughly 1.5 hours away.

And when you compare the two cities … lol. Definitely gonna spend another good weekend up in Portland. Such a good spot. We did the same thing for the Menzingers in the summer where they were playing on a Saturday.

I didn't want to comment it on the Twitter post because it'd seem pedantic but that graphic spelled the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank wrong, but I had to get it out somewhere. And it's where he was born!

Do or do not, there is no try.

I’m going to avoid listening to any of this until the full thing drops. Don’t want to overplay it. Might do that with all 2020 albums to see if I prefer it. Always burn out pre releases.

Having an Americana song called Honey Magnolia in your Discography and not having it on your Americana album Local Honey is kind of funny little quirk.

That sounds right. I don't think it was what they were all thinking for Gaslight but they couldn't stay on S1D forever...
