This is probably the most important and most difficult album I’ll need to restrain myself from listening to any other songs before March 27th.

I am sure it is going to be fantastic at 8 songs, and if that's the length he felt was right then I trust him, but I don't think Brian Fallon has ever had any trouble writing cohesive albums with no fat at 10, 11, 12 songs. For me, he's always done that *and* usually left at least one classic song off the album, ala Have Mercy or Blue Dahlia or She Loves You or Low Love.

I usually think anything under 10 songs is disappointing for a full length album but I know that is just me being greedy and I can objectively say it is a very dumb way to feel.

I love everything else about this so far. Choice of producer was awesome and very exciting. Album art is fucking incredible. What I've heard of the song is awesome. I even love that iTunes labelled it as 'Country' even though I am almost positive that it's not going to be a straight country album per se, but that's usually how I've seen things on iTunes labelled if they are at all Americana-y.

I mean, I like it which I expected but what a strange choice for the lead single.

I am a fan of albums that have some length and variety of songs. We only get one from bands every two to three years.

When I see a band live, I don’t shorter more focused set lists.

I’ve never felt any Gaslight/Crowes/Brian album every felt too short. I don’t want to judge before this album comes out, but I think I can handle a lot more than 31 minutes of Brian music. I actually find he’s one of the very few artists that I tend to enjoy everything. He also brings a nice mix of sounds to his music while staying cohesive. Again, hoping he can leave us all satisfied.

I’d rather have a little extra on my plate at a restaurant and take home what I don’t eat than finish my meal and not feel full. To their own.

New Brian is still great news though 1, 8 or 12 songs.

The video made its way to reddit. I like the song a lot, but agree that it seems to be a strange choice as a single. If the rest of the album feels like this song I think I’ll really dig it. To be fair though, Brian is one of my “pre-order, no questions asked artists” so I’d be shocked if I didn’t like it

I’m not convinced that shorter albums and budgets go hand in hand, because I can think of a variety of examples than can support both cases.

Sleepwalkers at 12 worked really well for me. I really felt Brian hit everything I hoped for. Again, until this album comes out I can’t directly compare. At least with Brian I will probably enjoy all 8 songs (so I hope other bands don’t get in on this idea).

It's nice that he's trying something structurally different, and if it's only 8 songs in 31 minutes that just means I'll be able to listen to it twice in an hour. The quality is going to be there... I mean, this song is wonderful. I really like the falsetto in the bridge, that's new for him.

Did he get dropped from Island or what?

Not that they seemed to do much for him.

I don't know if you know, but I feel you in me.
Inside of my years, inside of my bones.
I remember the colors, your mysterious eyes.
Part of me stays in the room where we met.

And everything slows in my breath as I watch you float across the floor.
And the night came as it went. I could swear that I knew you before.
And maybe on another night, we were lovers in the moonlight.
Or maybe we were only strangers on mystery trains.
You were only a ghost that had stolen my heart away.

And I always wondered if I knew you before.
I feel like I have enough time on my hands.
I know that you're with me, so I have this fear
One day I'll wake up, you'll be a dream

'Cause everything slows in my breath and I watch you float across the floor
And the night came as it went. I could swear that I knew you before.
And maybe on another night, we were lovers in the moonlight.
Or maybe we were only strangers on mystery trains.
You were only a ghost that had stolen my heart away.

Now, if you need me, you know where to find me.
I'll be always falling under your spell.

And everything slows in my breath as I watch you float across the floor.
And the night came as it went. I could swear that I knew you before.
And maybe on another night, we were lovers in the moonlight.
Or maybe we were only strangers on mystery trains.

Yeah, I saw. Was wondering what happened but might make more sense if he's going the Americana route for this one.

Song is great, sounds like a more Americana version of something off Elsie. If that's the sound of the whole thing, sign me the hell up.
