They 100000000% had to know about X’s story. Every one of them.

Just did some reading and yeah, there's been info out there for ages.

Bummer. Such a shit thing to get involved with this. I wonder if any of the 3 of them will speak about it.

X’s history has been known since day one. He blew up on SoundCloud with a song that had his mugshot as the picture

It wouldn’t surprise me if Travis had that same mentality a lot of x fans have where they say “everyone makes mistakes, he was changing”

Zane Lowe asked Travis about working with xxx and mentioned his troubles in an interview where Mark was in the room. He knows.

I really doubt this will be the case at this point but what if it's just a sample? Sometimes a sampled artist will get a feature credit on a song, like Otis Redding on Otis

    Probably just wishful thinking though

I think it's really just best to accept this as what it transparently appears to be. I also don't think a feature would make the situation any better whatsoever.

I find it weird how different celebrities are treated when working with questionable characters.

Mike Tyson, who was convicted of rape made a cameo in Todd Phillip’s The Hangover starring Bradley Cooper. I didn’t seem to stop people from going to watch Guardians of the Galaxy or The Joker.

Scarlett Johansson has frequently worked with Woody Allen. Didn’t seem to hurt The Avengers at the Box Office.

Dwayne Johnson has worked with Kevin Hart, and people seem to be holding it against him.

I remember Fall Out Boy and John Mayer doing a cover of Michael Jackson’s Beat It. Everyone knows about the allegations against Jackson.

There’s not a lot of consistency there in how people react or who they support. I get every case is different. I do wish my favourite bands, filmmakers and actors would find better people to work with, but I am not going to hold the actions of their acquaintances against them to degree of the guilty party.

    Just my thoughts.

Yeah I think Travis thinks it's similar to his situation but substance abuse and having a tumultuous marriage in the public eye isn't the same as being a homophobic abuser

Travis for sure believes in cancel culture

Fairly certain Travis has said these exact words about him in an interview at some point in the past. Completely delusional and also a very convenient line to use about someone who’s dead and thus can’t prove the speaker wrong.

Ive always wondered why when people call out hypocrisy/inconsistencies, the only response on this site is how bad of a post it is, without giving an actual answer

  14. That's what all the people on Reddit are saying now too, to give him a break because he was changing, and all of the allegations against were "only allegations."

because most of us aren’t inconsistent with calling out people who do shitty stuff.

I mean I don’t put anything past reddit considering there are still people on there who think Jesse Lacey did nothing wrong

I'm unsurprised and angry more than disappointed. There’s also Skiba‘s association with white supremacist Boyd Rice and fascination with white supremacist symbols.

  18. Agreed. I was also told that I am the shitty person (when I said X was a shitty person) and I got called the N word. And that same person called X's ex-girlfriend a bitch because "she lied." Reddit is a dump, haha.

Glad to see there isn't a hell of a lot of the "well maybe they just don't know about it" opinion because that is fucking bullshit. If I know about it, someone not in the industry and just a fan of blink, then they definitely should and do. It isn't a few tweets like other situations, this is legit news stories with vivid descriptions from the victim.

Sorry but I just don't buy the "everyone makes mistakes" stuff when it comes to someone like X. Those aren't "mistakes" to me.

    Alright, here's an answer.

The people on this site who speak on these subjects are remarkably consistent. The list of "inconsistencies" made in the post you're referring to are all people I have seen users of this site wrestle with and discuss. So if @.K. was attempting to call out inconsistencies with users on this site, in particular the users posting in this thread about xxx, then it was a bad post, because those inconsistencies do not exist. It was a cheap and lazy attempt at a gotcha.

If .K. was trying to point out that the discussions in this thread are inconsistent with the broader discussions of accountability in society (a generous, generous reading of his post), then maybe he's on to something, because on the whole society is not good at holding abusers accountable, a fact that is very well understood by a lot of people on this site.

And to address the final point of .K.'s post, who you choose to acquaint yourself with is an indication of what behaviours and values you will accept and those you won't. Mark, Matt and Travis should absolutely be judged on the company they choose to keep.

It’s wild people say they are allegations and that his ex lied when there’s a recording of him admitting it happened. Also a different video of him punching a girl in the face, and the part about him nearly beating a gay man to death came directly from his mouth

So disappointing people are justifying this at all on Reddit, although, I am not surprised one bit.

This collaboration is a stupid idea but I don't think the band cares what handful of people on the internet have to say. It's not going to effects Blinks business in any way and the casual listener isn't going to care. At the end of the day, the joke is on X.....he's dead.
