I thought the new MacBooks were expected to be announced last month? Mine is borderline unusuably slow and it's really frustrating that they haven't said anything yet.

 

If you guys are having really slow page loading times in Safari compared to your other Mac browsers, I HIGHLY recommend giving this a read and trying some of the suggestions. I recently switched to Safari as my primary browser, and loved everything about it EXCEPT how slow it was loading pages for me. Tried several of these, and now it's blazing fast.

If it's urgent, get a current one refurbished or used. and if you're going to school, you're eligible for quite a student discount anyway :)

 

MacBooks were released a few months ago - if you mean MacBook Pro you might have to wait till fall

 

Current discount is $100, which isn't nothing but it's nothing to write home about for a $1500+ purchase. Unless there's another deal I'm not aware of.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do iOS 10 beta testers receive over-the-air updates when changes are made, or do you have to download them from a website? I've never done this before so I'm not sure how it works.

Yeah that's what I heard... so far I think I'm still using the original public beta of iOS 10, so I'm assuming there haven't been any updates since it launched.

 

that's correct. :) If they drop the new public beta, 9to5mac is a great place to stay up to date.

 

Google is currently no help - can someone point me in the direction of accessing Apple Music on tvOS? Just picked one up and the Music app only takes me to purchased items or the iTunes Store.

Edit: never mind, it would appear I unwittingly purchased the 3rd gen tv which means I am fucked.

 

So, this is a stupid question probably... but if I'm playing something in iTunes and I select "play next" or "add to up next" on a different album, the full album will queue up after the current song, not after the last song on my current album. Is there any way to change this?

 

You know, I actually don't know how to do this either lol... is it different for iTunes and the iPhone music app?

 

Not that I've noticed, I have the same issue with both. It's frustrating.

 

Start by playing the full album instead of starting from the full song, so you have to click the album "play" button ...


And then the up next thing will work like you're describing. Took me a while to figure that out. Otherwise it things you're just playing a song, not an album.

 

I really hope they release a 128 GB (and updated) version of the iPhone SE soon.

 

Wouldn't bank on that until at least Q1 next year, although I think they'd be wise to release a 4" version starting with this new lineup of phones in September. Doubtful though.

 

If they get rid of the headphone jack, I hope they do an updated SE that's basically just the 6 design with new guts. Really gonna hold onto the headphone jack for as long as I'm able.

I think the whole point of the SE is that it's as big as it is. Making it as big as the 6(s) would kinda make the existence of that whole thing moot.

As far as the headphone jack rumors are concerned, I read that removing the headphone jack will lead to us getting 14% more battery. Yeah I'll have that dongle for 20 bucks please ;)

 

Right, but in my perfect world, I don't have to trade size for a headphone jack haha.
