No it didn’t that’s my whole point. Plenty of games worked just fine on it w/ the regular shooter control scheme.

 

Tell that to Nintendo/Retro then, they're the ones who designed Metroid Prime 1 & 2 that way lol

 

Yeah the GCN controller worked fine for regular shooters, Prime's controls were all Rare's fault

Careful, you're about to get multiple posts explaining that it was actually Retro who made the games complete with screenshots of box art and loading screens

Rare was pretty good at making games for Kinect

Honestly instead of remaking Super Metroid, they should go back and re-make the original Metroid. It could definitely use one since it's never been remade before.

I can't believe I'm saying this but there's enough two dimensional Metroid'esque games to go around, I really want them to make more 3D ones.

that said yeah, Super Metroid doesn't need a remake lol

 

Metroid 2 definitely needed one, and I think they need to make a sequel for Fusion that's 2D, but yeah Prime 4 is definitely needed right now.

I also wouldn't mind another game with the gameplay style of Other M. I thought that game was really good just from a gameplay perspective, tbh.

 

Other M was robbed of any meaningful recognition thanks to its questionable cutscenes.

Also if anyone is looking for a 3d Metroid fix, I recommend Control and Fallen Order.

 

Not near as hard as Sekiro tho

 

Sekiro is easy-peasy once you've put a solid 50 or so hours into learning to play it

I was all in on the metroid prime hype before it came out. Played those games on multiple occasions and simply didnt find them to be that great.

 

now that I think about it the GC controllers L and R buttons are definitely not suited for shooters as we know them now

I have never felt good about a single nintendo controller design

There’s an argument to be made that they have too much travel

 

I played a ton of Timesplitters 2 on my GC. I think it was the first time I experienced using the right stick to aim around.

$12 is very fair for that
