    The rivalry is back on

#3 if I don't have Air For Free in there.

Five Score was one of those albums that I feel like defined my music taste and hit me at the perfect time, and I can't imagine them ever coming out with something that tops that for me. Every mmhmm song hits me with a different little bit of nostalgia and I love that about it. FANSD is probably my favorite of the rest, because I don't feel emotionally tied to that one in the same way as those two, but it's some of their best songwriting for sure.

From the number of times I've listened to the crappy Pandora stream, I have a feeling AFF will sit as the album that reminded me how much I love this band, and therefore probably #3.

I have more nostalgia for Mmhmm and Five Score but FANSD is easily the most emotionally attached I am to one of their albums.

I've talked the no CD thing into the ground, but there is a subtle irony to doing vinyl only (at first) and then all of the vinyl fucking up. Haha

I like the album. It's fun. I always seem to think that Relient K had no chance of ever topping mmhmm. It really is a masterpiece in terms of the genre. It is in my opinion, one of the best pop punk albums ever made.

The top 4 are all home runs in my book. I'm ready to put Air For Free in that company after multiple listens. Two Lefts... is pretty great but not quite in that same company. And then there's just a huge gap in quality between Two Lefts... and the other three albums. In other words, Relient K has put out some of the most consistently great material of any band I know. But they have a surprising amount of throwaway stuff.

I don't like pop punk much at all and its still in my top 10 favorite albums of all time.

I'm glad Relient k got fans of bad music to support them for a few years so they could eventually become as great as they did. Hahaha

I have a lot of nostalgia and memories associated with Two Lefts, but I still don't go back to it much. Jefferson Aeroplane and I Am Understood are my two favorites off of it. The "silly" songs off of that album don't do much for me anymore (like the majority don't hold up over time). Including Pink Tux...

I mean, maybe a little? It doesn't strike me as an extremely adventurous or versatile album. It's more like they liked all of the songs and wanted to include them all. There are a few outliers, but it stays in a pretty similar vein throughout I think.

Out of the four I've heard:
    1. FANSD
    2. MMHMM
    3. Five Score

    4. CL

1 and 2 are almost interchangeable though. Just different sounds that I think they do equally well.

five score is ok. I don't mind the song death bed.

I just wanted to say how brilliant it is during Marigold where the "Aaaahhs" come in over "Nothing but the sun in your eyes" and makes it hard to hear "sun in your eyes". I feels _exactly_ like the musical equivalent having the sun come into your eyes and putting your hand up to block it out.

Nothing but good things to say about this album. There's a lot more heart in this one than Collapsible Lung. They just sound comfortable. Like adults. It's great!
