The shooting sucks so much

 

At least The Outer Worlds doesn't re-write any war crimes. It just gives you the freedom to commit some yourself.

 

I swear i'm not being combative, just like who is that affecting though? What group of people? Everyone knows America sucks and it's foreign policy record is terrible. Maybe kids are getting the wrong idea? But is that CoDs fault!? No! It's the dumb fuckin education system that teaches history to make america always look like the good guy and covers up all the massive fuck ups!

I've gotten really good at it, but part of it sucking is on purpose because the TTK is extremely low. They've made it really hard to find shield drinks in C2.

 

that seems like bad game design lol

 

I mean I know popularity is not a deflection for criticism, but there's a reason so many people play that game. I personally wouldn't change a thing about the shooting.

also shotguns fucking rule in that game.

yeah the shooting in OW does not feel satisfying whatsoever. I only ever liked the rocket launcher of the Egyptian lady.

 

fortnite looks so goddamn spammy to play, I cant come close to wanting to play it

shooters with one hit powerups ala even destiny mp are too cheap spammy for me to enjoy personally so I know I wouldnt be able to handle mf fortnites bullshitery

that being said, fortnite is actually kinda cool for those reasons and for how different it is. just watch someone else play it or something.

 

It does hurt people though, it hurts people who play this game and don’t know the truth about what happened. Rewriting history is one of the most harmful things you can do on a societal level. How can we as people learn from the past if we don’t know what the truth is?

And sure a lot of the burden should be on the education system but like why should CoD (or any other piece of media for that matter) contribute to the problem in any way? And it is a problem, because despite the ESRB rating a ton of young people will play this game and accept the propaganda it contains as truth. Well before any history class they take even reaches the first Gulf War, if it even teaches it at all. So this will be their only reference point for these events going forward. That is not good.

how is outer worlds shooting? first impressions looked rough.

 

it’s not the same kind of polished gunplay as you’d find in something like CoD or Destiny or whatever but it’s way better than the Fallout games

After beating a level in COD, I have not once associated it with any real time event. Are they similar? Absolutely. But I don't ever get a feeling they are rewriting history. I know it sounds like it does on paper, but after playing the game, your take sounds absurd.

 

I don't know what to tell you. They literally re-wrote history in a cutscene. I agree that sounds absurd but it's what they did. You can think it's no big deal but it happened.
