    Newbie

I'm really loving this album so far, but I agree, the lyrics in God seem a little trite. I really like the sound of the song, though. Maybe the lyrics will grow on me.

Other favorites are Local Construction, Man, Air For Free, Elephant Parade, and Empty House. I was happy to hear some auto-tune because I loved it in The Stenographer. There's a lot to this album. Lots of songs, and a lot of diversity in the sound, but it feels like it all belongs together (which I can't really say for CL). As everyone else has said, this feels like the proper follow-up to FANSD. I don't hate CL, but it was an anomaly and that's a good thing.

Running doesn't even try to hide the Ben Folds influence, The middle section sounds like Army rearranged - I appreciate it but almost to similar for my liking

    The rivalry is back on

Only complaint is that 16 songs is very long for a relient k album that doesn't have any 10 second interludes

I think that's my main problem with it at the moment. I don't really dislike any of the songs but I think the album would be stronger without a few. If I could cut 3/4 of these and add Look on Up I think it could hit Five Score/FANSD levels for me.

    Someday I’ll find me Prestigious

See, that hour flew by for me last night. I think 50 minutes is a perfect album length, but I'm happy with 40-60 minutes if it doesn't hit that sweet spot.

i’ve been meaning to tell you

I don't feel like it's a chore to listen to (it's all good!) but it does seem like a lot. I've listened probably six or seven times and still have trouble remembering what some of the songs sound like.

I hate doing this so early, but if I HAD to cut it down to "normal" length, it'd be:

    Bummin'
    Local Construction
    Man
    Air for Free
    Elephant Parade
    Mountaintop
    Sleepin'
    Empty House
    Flower
    Marigold
    Runnin'
    Bonus: Look On Up

FANSD didn't feel like a 15-track record because the interludes and how well they transition. This one does feel a bit long and some feels like filler. But i'll take this any day over CL. Very happy with this album

This is great but it sort of just feels like a collection of songs rather than a cohesive album. Maybe that'll change with repeated listens.

Backing this but replacing Elephant parade with Sleepin' or Heartache

getting rid of weaker songs or songs that feel out of place makes for a more cohesive, more consistent album. I'm not actually cutting down the album, this is just what I think would have made a better record.

    Local Construction
    Man
    Air for Free
    God
    Elephant Parade
    Mountaintop
    Sleepin'
    Empty House
    Flower
    Marigold
    Look on Up
    Heartache

I mean, like, I don't always have time to listen to 16 songs. If i can still get the same cohesion and message and all of my favorite songs in in 11 songs, why not cut it down to that many instead of 16

I almost consider this a double album.

Split the album at Mountaintop and they sound very distinctly different. That's helping me not feel overwhelmed with the amount of new music.

RK records are usually longer than normal anyways. At least 15 songs. That's a lot of material and it's usually pretty good so it doesn't bother me.

I still haven't listened to this and I really need to listen to FANSD too

I will this weekend. I really need to spend more time with Five Score, FANSD, and I haven't even heard this new one yet so it should be a good weekend.
