Like we all probably have, I listened to Motorhead a lot before...but Iron Fist popped on a shuffle playlist sometime last week and the shit just clicked for me. Sans a small break yesterday, it's pretty much all I've been listening to since. It's just so, so good to me now for some reason.

The greatest hits collection comes out Friday I believe!

I should listen to more Motorhead. I've only really heard the hits other than the month or so I tried diving into them more before seeing them at Mayhem Fest.

Another one? As much as I'm growing to really like them more, the last thing they need is another compilation release:

14?! I'd hate to be a Motorhead completist.

I like the Invisible Oranges weekly roundups since they include descriptions and usually links to at least song streams. Here’s theirs for this week:

    Upcoming Metal Releases: 10/20/19 — 10/26/19

As far as keeping up with new releases, I just use this site, Kingdom Leaks and Twitter mostly. I miss some stuff but usually catch up on it within a couple months if it's a notable enough release.

I do browse KL and check out the pre-release tracks for stuff I wasn't aware of that's in genres I like, though their genre tags don't tend to be super accurate.

Yeah, their genre tags aren't great. I like that they embed YouTube/Soundcloud links right there though so you can get a quick sample before downloading. I also look at the number of comments on a given album. Granted the users over there don't have the best taste, but if something has a bunch of comments on it, it's usually somewhat noteworthy.

Yeah, if something looks interesting I will usually check out whatever song they've posted to preview it to see if I'm actually interested.

Leave it to Rob Halford to turn Christmas full on metal. How old is this guy?! This is awesome!!!

Halford's voice hasn't changed or weakened at all, it's incredible. Like, even Bruce Dickinson, great as he still is, can't quite hit some of the notes he used to (although he had throat cancer so the fact he can still perform as well as he does is awesome in and of itself).

Excited to see FFAA again in a couple weeks. They sound fantastic on that K Pit performance. Rivers of Nihil is direct support with live sax. Oh yeah.
