criminal energy is just nothingwrong (not a bad thing)

 

The opening guitar riff(s) from "Diamond" is straight out of a specific 80's rock song that is on the radio a lot and I can't quite nail it down - I think it's "Summer of '69" by Brian Adams.

 

The chorus to One Mil reminds me so much of another song that it's really bugging me what it is

Diamond speaks to me on so many levels

 

This album makes me happy.

 

Did you all know this album is very, very good?

I think Recommit has some of Jim’s best melodies. Very different for him but his angelic voice gives it the beauty it needs.

 

Early favorites are Surviving, Diamond, Recommit, and Congratulations

 

prolly not it cos the melodies are very different, but when the chorus music starts I keep expecting the chorus from The Early November's "One More Chance" to come in lol

 

Nah I think the song I'm thinking of is one that was used in a movie or something. And it's the melody that's making me think of it

Just started listening on a whim and damn that opener is good

 

"On a whim"? First time digging into a full Jimmy album?

 

I’m not floored by criminal energy tbh. Glad it wasn’t the lead off

 

I think Criminal Energy would have been a monster single.

 

I love Criminal Energy. The only songs I’d say I don’t love right now are 555 and One Mil

 

I like it, but Recommit is the one song that hasn’t hit me hard yet.

 

Finally getting around to listening all the way through and I fucking loved it. Recommit and Congratulations are a fantastic 1-2 punch to end the album.

 

Picked up the white vinyl last night. Perfect record to spin with the morning coffee
