I don’t “get” Page either. He has a great look, does great moves in the ring, talks well, and probably most importantly I want to like him but I’ve never been taken to him in a match. At Dynamite all the focus was on the other three understandably but he just doesn’t captivate me in the ring. I think it’s the cowboy shit, I can’t take that seriously it feels like a caricature of what a spaghetti western fan dresses up with. it also doesn’t mesh with his mannerisms or moves in the ring.

 

do you think AEW will introduce a midcard-belt eventually?

Catching up with the last hour of Dynamite. Jericho looks such a fucking dork with his weird make up. Does he do it because he knows he looks dumb but owns it? Or does he genuinely think it looks good?

Yeah Jericho definitely knows how dumb it looks. It’s part of the character to get people to dislike him/it.

I’m genuinely very curious about how NXT will portray Scarlett Bordeaux. In terms of character, this is one of the most intriguing signings they’ve made it a while

 

I'm also on the fence about hangman page. Love the name...actually love his little video/theme. Sounds very four horseman like. Obvious great wrestler. I agree with bigmikes take on wcw feel to him...which is a compliment

I'm always kinda meh with cowboy gimmicks though. Hes kinda just there for now. Dont see him as a giant star yet though but could be a great role player for years to come.

 

Was Borash putting together her vignettes before he left? I could see them doing similar angles. It never came off sleezy, outside of the Disco stuff and even that had a great payoff.

Just last night I was telling my roommate who I watch it with that I'm ready for a wrestler to be on it

 

Hana it's oozing with personality. I'm really happy that she's had such a strong presence in Joshi wrestling since her ROH stuff. Would not be surprised if she were the next big get for WWE.

 

I know we ALL say this probably once a year, every year. Kinda wrestling tradition right? but...

This is the lowest I've been on the product (wwe) in what seems like ever. I haaaaaate having 3 brands on tv like this. Theres so much happening yet... nothing happening. No structure in anything and no storylines to dig into. Wasting all this time on part time and mma celebs...its brutal. Too many titles. Wrong guys getting pushed. Fucking SHORTY GABLE. Brand split, no brand split, allover the place. Shitty sausi house show coming up, followed by who gives a fuck survivor series.

Aew has picked a great time to exist

 

Was bummed I missed NXT in Portland until I saw the results. No Sharai, Cole, Gargano, Chiampa, or Dream. That's rough especially when they didn't even announce Cole or Dream aren't appearing when they were previously advertised. Also Ohno going over Swerve in the NW is stupid as fuck.

 

Also cancelled my WWE Network because fuck that Saudi show. Card is awful and I'm tired of them having a hard on for such a terrible country. Think I'm gonna take a break until at least the Rumble.

 

I feel like the hangman page “cowboy gimmick” is a little overblown. He’s not like full 1980’s cowboy spitting chewing tobacco and carrying a bull rope. I feel like it’s a modern version that also honors A LOT from that era which is so intrinsically entwined with AEW: the Rhodes, JR, Arn Anderson, Tony Schiavone, etc.
