I thought it was extremely weird/awkward/poor taste for him to be wearing an AVA shirt during the whole reunion tour. I really wonder what the heck Mark and Travis really thought about that.

I know the whole joke from when they announced they were back at the Grammys was Tom doesn't look like he wants to be there but damn looking back now geez.

I admit I was in total denial that he was using blink just for the cash and to promote his other projects.

Same here although the AVA shirt didn't phase me.

I thought every person knew he was clearly using blink to leverage AvA and his other projects and were just fine with it; the question was if that was his sole motivation for being in the band or if he also actually wanted to make blink's music. We all held onto hope that things were good between them, but I'll admit, we were all in some pretty deep denial when we were waiting for Neighborhoods for all that time. No motivated band should ever push back an album that much. It was clear the motivation/chemistry wasn't there, but no one wanted to think that.

  6. Tom used Blink to fund AVA. No question.

Yeah we were all in some denial then. I just wanted new blink music lol. Hell when neighborhoods dropped mostly everyone loved it just because it was new. Then a couple years later we were like "honestly it wasn't that good...."

Probably good that album never happened. We could have gotten "Suburban Kings of the Weekend".

Deep down I knew it but I was in complete denial. The warning signs were all there but I just didn't want to believe it. I would love to have him take a lie detector test and ask them those questions. Did he really want to be in blink again or just wanted the cash and use it to get his other projects going? If he want to be in blink but once the band started to practice, tour and record what made him push back? Did he ever have plans to record another album? Etc.

I'm just really glad we finally have a band that's motivated, wants to tour, wants to make new music, and wants to be a band.

I'll have to watch this later. I've been waiting on some band commentary and was disappointed Spotify didn't have one (yet).

Suburban Kings is so bad. "Tommy" lol. And it's like the same song as some other AVA song about starting a band.. Rite of Spring? But worse

Yeah, Rite of Spring. I'm pretty sure that song was just a pre-working version of that song or something.

Always the first to post these things, I'm still not convinced Zeke doesn't work for the band lol.

Good insight in the songs though

It seemed like people liked "Rite of Spring" because it was an honest look back at Tom's time with blink (during the hiatus, no less). That "Suburban Kings" song is just like the most phoned in song on the most phoned in album. It was like most of those songs on the "Odds and Ends" thing came from his delusions about what people like about blink.

And his sexual fantasies about getting his cock sucked by peoples dads, jerked off by peoples moms, and peopels brothers uncles, wanting people to take shits on his chest, pissing in peoples mouths, pooping on your cousins and jerking himself to sleep.

That last sentence is so true. Idk if it would be different if Tom was in the band, but Rabbit Hole and The Only Thing are probably the most "blink" songs on the record and those seem to be among the least favorite on this album.

I didn't mind Rite Of Spring though it was probably my least favorite on I-Empire. It did feel honest. That was the last AVA album I can say I enjoyed. I still like most of Neighborhoods, but if the stuff on his EP is what he thought blink should be, I think it's safe to say he was out at the right time. Imagine if Golden Showers was on this album in any form *shudder* and Tom is the one who acts too good for the fun blink stuff and then he just like totally regressed with some of those songs.

I love how happy Matt is. And I love how him and Mark are constantly hanging outside of Blink. I've never seen him be more talkative and excited.

So happy for Matt. Happy blink is a functioning unit that all get along again.

Yeah and he seems genuinely happy and excited about blink-182. Unlike someone else I use to hold in high regard
