  1. I think Jim talks about it in his episode of Pete Holmes' podcast called You Made It Weird.

This is about the best I could do. I love them all, tbh. You could swap BA, IG, and Futures on certain days.

On any given day I may do the same.

It was. In one of the recent interviews he said it’s been 6 years and change. So it was either early 2013 or late 2012

Futures and Chase This Light being that low are crimes against Jimmy.

I had no idea either. He talks about in this Q&A with Billboard.

Jimmy Eat World's Survival Guide: Frontman Jim Adkins On The Band's History You've Never Heard

2013 happens to be the last time I saw JEW and I remember thinking it was nowhere near as good as the previous three times I had seen them. By no means was it bad - and I'm not saying it had anything to do with substance abuse or anything - but I saw someone mention something about their 2013 shows previously.

  7. yeah i've used kings road a couple times recently and it seems whatever system they use to send out tracking/shipping stuff is broken so I have to keep checking back lol

that being said mine hasn't moved yet :(

no impatience or bad blood tho, just excited! i am used to records shipping late and that being the norm and understand why. this band is just important lol

After all I’ve heard I’m expecting congratulations to end with a full on 2009 rise records breakdown and if it doesn’t I’ll be disappointed

I really love those albums, but find that I don't return to them often. Weird, because I listened to them all the time in high school. Like I said, all their albums are incredible so ranking any of them low is difficult for me.

Anyway, an underrated Jimmy song is "How'd You Have Me." It's such a banger, feels like no one talks about it.

What a wonderful and insightful interview. I know some people who could really use the advice and wisdom he provides. The only time I’ve met anyone from the band was Jim and Tom after a show in 2013, which could have been one of their better days that year, because I certainly never got the impression that Jim was struggling. I’d listened to the Pete Holmes podcast with him talking about it, as well; didn’t realize that was the time he was having the most trouble.

Point of all this is, they are the best band and I love reading/listening to all what Jim has to say. Such an intelligent and optimistic person.

Like half of Damage could be all-timer Jimmy songs, if only the production was tweaked a bit. Appreciation is still a top 10 for sure, and No Never has maybe my favorite bridge by them.

I've tried so hard to get passed the production. It always distracts me. Appreciation is amazing either way.

Funny thing about struggling with substance abuse is, as someone who struggled a lot with alcohol and is over two years sober now, you may seem fine on the outside, but the internal struggle is very real. I mean, people had no idea I was struggling with depression and alcohol until I had to tell them straight up and then explain it to them. You just never know.

Very true -- and I hope that I didn't come across as ignorant when I wrote that. I was just surprised to learn that was when he was having the most trouble with his addiction, seeing that he was one of the few idols of mine whom I've met and he was every bit as nice as he comes off whenever I've seen him during interviews, etc. As someone who has borderline personality disorder and struggles with depression & anxiety day-in, day-out, I completely get how the mental anguish can feel without ever exposing your innermost 'demons' to others, and I commend Jim for being able to gain the perspective he has; he's a truly eloquent and articulate speaker with tons of great wisdom.

I didn't think it was ignorant! I just felt compelled to respond! Keep fighting the good fight. I know it's extremely tough, but I'm glad I did. Never thought I'd feel the way I do now.

Thank you, same goes out to you! Awesome to hear that sentiment; it is tough, but being proud of where you are now and what you’ve achieved is a tremendous feeling. Happy to have a band like Jimmy bringing us all together!
