Another double double for Thon Maker. Third in a row. He's looking way better than expec.... wait it was a double double with 10 fouls?!

"I remember one time Kevin Garnett was mushing him, and shoving him in the face; and Tim Duncan didn't do anything, he didn't react. He just kicked Kevin Garnett's ass, and won the damn championship. You know what I'm sayin'? That's gangsta. Everybody can show emotion, dunk on somebody, scream and be real cocky; but Tim Duncan is a ... he's a pimp." - Metta World Peace

One of my favorite quotes about Duncan from Metta himself.

  8. There, too, was the real message of Duncan’s quiet retirement. Letting the Spurs do the work of announcing that he was walking away was not humble, but a sly act of supreme swagger. Let Kobe have the branded retirement logo and the final 61-point chuckfest and the scripted farewell message. Kobe was always needy, scuffling to impress the fans to the end. Duncan didn’t stoop to ask for your approval. He knew what he’d done. If you didn’t appreciate it by now, too bad for you.

I love getting these little insights into Pop's relationship with Timmy. We always knew they were close but it's amazing seeing just how strong their relationship was. One team loyalty isn't much of a thing these days with players moving around, and there's nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with looking for the biggest payday, or chasing a ring elsewhere, but it's nice seeing one player stick with one coach his entire career, and hearing of the connection they have. You can tell it goes so much deeper than putting a ball through the hoop or winning hardware, and that's really special. I fully expect them to be sharing a bottle of wine on some island somewhere 20 years from now reminiscing about the old days, talking about Pop almost having a heart attack any time Danny Green did something stupid, cracking jokes about Suns fans, etc.

I've been totally down on anthony Bennett but with nothing to lose on a team like Brooklyn, probably his best opportunity here

Looks like Manu left around $20 mil on the table from the Sixers to come back to the Spurs. sixers just throwing their money around at everyone, huh?

They pretty much have to do that. According to the CBA, teams must spend just under $85 million this upcoming season (90% of the salary cap). With fifteen players signed, the Sixers are still around $30 million under that mark.

They don't have to. There is no penalty for not meeting the cap floor. If they don't hit it, they split the remainder among those on the roster.

It wouldn't hurt them financially to overpay Ginobili, but they are under no obligation to add any other contracts.

Yeah, i thought you could just split the reminder amongst your current roster. Some team had to do it past season, it was the Blazers I feel but might have been someone else.

What a depressing watch the 30 for 30 about Shaq and Penny is. I've never loved watching a player as much as I did Penny.

Although when they had the poll of 85% thinking Shaq didn't deserve Mourning money, I instantly said "fuck you Orlando, you deserve nothing" lol.
