Well I had heard his post-seventies work wasn't all that great so I was going in with slightly lower expectations given how well regarded his older films are but I found not much to complain about, will definitely check out The Devils at some point.

Planning to watch Psycho when I get home from work, nap, then go see The Shining. What a way to start the spooky season!

The Shining is playing two minutes down the street from me but I have so much to do this week after work and I can't commit two and a half hours to it :(

I'll just have to watch my DVD copy so that I can pause once and a while, the way Kubrick intended

You should do a follow up with Shadow of the Vampire

I rewatched that a few years ago and it’s not nearly as good as I remember. I wish we had the time to watch either that or the Klaus Kinski Nos too!

Just remembered that at the end of this month An American Werewolf In London gets its limited edition Blu-ray release and Ghostbusters, which I haven't seen in full, is re-released in cinemas for its 35th Anniversary.

Our best local theater has spooky stuff all month, including What We Do in the Shadows and The Exorcist, and I’m STOKED.

Dumb Good just dropped a huge collection of officially licensed horror merch. Quality is good, I have a few from them.

Sometimes I like. The one Halloween shirt is perfect except for the bright pumpkins down one sleeve.

  20. I've probably said this before, but: I vaguely remember that I saw bits and pieces of The Shining as a kid, i.e. at an age when I clearly shouldn't have. In less than two hours from now, I'm gonna see it in full for the first time. I'm scared, fam.

As a kid I remember coming into the room when my parents were watching it on TV (probably the edited for tv version) and I distinctly remember the scene where Shelly Duvall spots the manager and bear costume guy together along with the vision of blood coming out of the elevator I think it wasn’t until high school I saw the full movie.
