its from a split they put out with some other band but it also ended up on the oakland singles compilation. their back catalog is worth looking into. no bad releases from them, but i still havent heard all their EPs

So I went to the Orlando date of Warped Tour (after throwing up from eating Takis and having too much lemonade) and I got to meet Wage War and From Ashes To New and I realized at Whitechapel that even though I'm not a big fan of death core/death metal that deathcore/death metal bands like Whitechapel are fucking fantastic live

Alot of deathcore bands are really changing gears, similar to how jfac has changed. Honestly alot of it reminds me of nu-metal. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

I'm not super into the new Whitechapel album (although I've only listened to it twice through) but I've also found them to be one of the more solid deathcore acts.

Whitechapel was good fun when I saw them at warped a few years ago.

One of the reasons I never had issues with djent. Bands like periphery have a lot of production but that crisp sound works. Scale the summit and animals as leaders are probably the best two examples.

Animals as Leaders is one of the few of that sound I really enjoy.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

Scale the Summit and Animals as Leaders are kinda boring to me now. That's my edgy, contrarian opinion for the day.

I know they'd hate to be labeled so, but Meshuggah are kind of the accidental forefathers of djent. Check them out. For newer stuff, Monuments is a good choice.

Backed. I'd recommend Tesseract too, though I don't know how much they really qualify as djent.
