Same. Didn’t even notice it before. Now I hear it every time.

I do not enjoy that chorus. Only song I dislike.

 

Why?

 

I'm not really sure. It just doesn't sound good to me and I think the lyrics are kinda dumb.

 

aww dang. You’re breaking my heart. The lyrics in the chorus mess me up.

 

I do love the song and chorus and it may be my favorite song on this album, but my girlfriend did look at me and say “did he just say angels wings at the bus stop?” so I had to counter with “it’s about school shootings” so she didn’t make fun of me for that chorus being in constant rotation in my head and me singing out loud every day since the leak.

 

I didn't know it was about school shootings. I'll relisten with that in mind.

 

They cited this mass shooting that was very close to where Travis lives when discussing the song:

I just love the chorus so much. I just get a strong visual of someone struggling and giving into the darkness. They know they’re about to make a bad decision and leave their innocents behind (wings at the bus stop, halos on the bar). They think there’s no way of going back (Heaven doesn’t want me now).

uggh. Damn.

 

Interesting take, I interpreted the chorus as being about how these innocent (mostly young) people who lost their lives in senseless violent shootings weren't supposed to die yet. I could be totally off base here but:

"Heaven doesn't want me now
Heaven doesn't want me"

I took that as being like Heaven doesn't want me because I'm not supposed to be there yet...Hard to articulate but hopefully that makes some sense.

I definitely took it that way too when I heard what the song was about. That’s probably right too haha

 

This video is aging me so hard

 

When Mark said “that was 10 years ago” when referring to Up All Night, that really hit me hard. Cant believe in 2 years that’ll be 10 years old. Insane.

 

I love how the kids are like "they sound like P!ATD"

 

I'm just gonna say it now: no heart to speak of might be a top 10 blink song of all time for me.

 

Really happy with how well this album is aging for me. I still reach for it as the first album I wanna hear each morning.

Looks like my vinyl will finally be here today, sign is due Wednesday.

 

How this makes me feel

 

This has been the case with me too. (Except vinyl due tomorrow finally). I’m so damn happy they put out an album let alone one this good. I don’t think even fans of the band knew they had THIS in them still

 

This album is literally all I have been listening to since Friday. That's how I know it's damn good

 

I love the mood of On Some Emo Shit. It's funky and dark.

 

I’ve got some definite nitpicks with this album and it doesn’t really work as a whole for me but the stretch of Black Rain -> the end of the album makes the whole release worth it
