Nah, there's no world Id do anything with Gable over Ali. Ali has a better story, a better look (hell, Gable's angle is still that he's a midget), and already had the crowd behind him before he got hurt.

There's a pretty long list of guys that have credibility but are going nowhere on SD alone (Sami, Ali, Andrade, Murphy, etc)...cant see why Gable would jump them.
