He actually had his regular arm back by the end of The Force Awakens. You can see it when everyone’s saying goodbye to Rey. The red arm was a reference to the comic released in 2016. It’s a good read about the autonomy of droids.

Now that I’m thinking about it I’m kind of surprised for a “special look” teaser they revealed Dark Rey. Sounds like something they’d save for the official trailer when more eyes are gaurenteed to be on it during MN Football. Granted it’ll still probably be there it’s just kind of an oddly huge reveal for something like this.

 

This definitely feels more like an actual teaser trailer than a "special look". I thought it was supposed to be a behind the scenes thing when I started watching.

 

This looks cool. Way cool.

Kylo was pretty deranged at the end of TLJ. I'm sure they could pull off the redemption arc, but seems like maybe a stretch to me?
