I know. I just mean because it's 4 days from now, it's too soon for Amazon to have had a physical product for Brand New that is ready to ship on that day without it being discovered before now. I'm pretty sure this is nothing, but I don't wanna buzzkill too hard, so I'll just say that I could be wrong here.

    Setlist from Pittsburgh tonight:

    Sink
    Gasoline
    Millstone
    You Stole
    Noro
    Sic Transit
    Tommy Gun
Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot
    Degausser
    Limousine
    Jesus Christ
    Luca
    Sowing Season (Yeah)

    Encore:
    Soco
You Wont Know (Tautou lyrics sprinkled throughout)

    Interesting tid bits:
    - As the band was jamming out the end of You Wont Know, Jesse seemed to be eager to close out the set before the band was. He proceeded to walk up and down the amps that stood behind Garret and put on and took off his guitar several times while the band continued to play without interruption (Vinnie was doing some excellent soloing the whole time). Jesse then gave his guitar away to his tech and in what appeared to be a type of adult temper tantrum walked up the mic, said "goodnight" and then walked off stage. The band continued to jam for another 2 minutes after that. It was amusing.
    - MM was good too
    - Oh, and Jesse shaved his head again. Right @jols ?

blessed be the lost at sea

    Awesome that they played Noro!

He left before the rest of the band at my show too, but not in a rude way. He finished playing, bowed and thanked us, then left the stage. The others left one by one as well, I think Garrett and Brian left about the same time.

This band means so much to me, I don't think I realized quite how much until the other night and I have nothing but praise for the show. My mind has been shooting off bursts of thought since. It was most definitely the best night I've had in a long time, I needed it, and definitely up there among the best live performances I've seen. I feel as if I've been wholly divided and I'm at peace with that. Predictably so, Brand New slaughtered me but I hadn't felt that good in a while. I don't think I've formulated complete thoughts quite yet, at least not ones that make sense out of my head.

But, thank you @ImAMetaphor and Lauren, too. I have so much love for the two of you and for Brand New. I am lucky beyond belief for July 3rd.

its so strange that you had such a different experience than I did with Jesse and You Won't Know. For me, I don't think he wanted to leave, he was exceptionally passionate, he was on the ground, it never really ended.

It was surprising that they didn't play either of the new songs, but I can't complain about any BN set choice. As for the haircut, I like to think that he burnt off a chunk in a fireworks mishap over the weekend and had to even it out.

BTW @Serenity Now thanks again for the water! And the missing MM song from your list might've been Doin' the Cockroach? Can't remember if that was on there already.

Here's some insight on the Pittsburgh show-

Brand New started late. The guy who creates Old Blood Noise pedals is their guitar tech. I noticed that guy and the other guitar tech spend a lot of time figuring out Jesse's pedal board during sound check. What ended up happening was they took out his board and brought out a few necessary pedals to get the show rolling. Jesse even came out to dial in his distortion and I thought it was funny because I didn't realize it was him at first because of his buzzed head. Anyways, after Soco Amaretto Lime, I noticed Vin go up to Jesse and motion "one more song and thats it", or something like "we don't have anymore time" cause they wasted time troubleshooting shit earlier- so they started playing You Won't Know and we didn't get Nightmare or Mene.
After looking at other setlists, they've been doing an encore with some type of acoustic song, Mene, Nightmare, close with You Won't Know - but they had to cut it short tn.

We got Noro though and Brian messed up the drums in the second verse. Also, Modest Mouse opened with Trailer Trash which was tightttt.

You are welcome! Great meeting a fellow forum person.

Here's the set list from the notes I took. Let me know if I missed something.

    Modest Mouse Set:

    Trailer Trash
    What People are Made Of
    Dashboard
    Ocean Breathes Salty
    Sugarboat
    Grey Ice Water
    Bukowski
    King Rat
    The Devil's Workday
The Ground Walks with Time in a Box
    Doin' the Cockroach
    Float On
    The Tortoise And The Tourist?
    Lampshades on Fire
    Spitting Venom

This was my first MM show and they delivered a number of my favorites. I'm only a casual listener, but I was very impressed with their performance.

I could be mis-interpreting his behavior, but after he was done singing for You Wont Know, it appeared to me like he was looking to close the song as quickly as possible. Up until that point, he was definitely giving it his all. His vocals on that song, along with the rest of the set, sounded amazing.

I certainly wont forget him screaming "like a bridge" into that mic anytime soon.

With Tautou laced into You Won't Know and Noro, I'm hoping this might pop up in the live recordings too!

If MM plays Trailer Trash and Spitting Venom tonight it Raleigh it will be fantastic. Two of my favorites that I've yet to see them play live. Hoping weather isn't an issue and that things run smoothly for both bands. Will be weird seeing Brand New open, but I think that will thin the crowd out some for MM which could be nice

The MM set from last night is the best of the tour, wow. Wish they would've played Trailer Trash in MI. Spitting Venom live is always great too.
