A lot of people personally experience abuse and still make excuses for other abusers. I’d like to hope his eyes are maybe opened by something fucked up like this, but yeah, he’ll probably continue his pattern of ignoring abusers that he wants to work with abusing people he doesn’t know.

I wanted to post something to this effect as well but couldn't word it correctly so thanks for this. Very telling that he's only able to call out "predatory behavior" now that it affects him personally, as opposed to when he was vocally supporting XXXTentacion before and after his death.

It's not surprising when a man can only find empathy for the women directly in his life, and I trust Travis Barker about as far as I can throw him based on who he chooses to support. Doesn't change how I feel about a 20 year old man approaching a child though.

(I don't think anyone in here was saying it was more okay because of that. Just echoing the idea that this isn't really about Barker.)

Especially if he’d been trying to contact her for three years. At which point did he think she was his age, when she was 10 the first time he tried it or when she was 13 and he got caught? Because I don’t think there’s a 10 year old on the planet that can pass as a legal adult.

Yep, the article says he first tried contacting her in 2016 when she was ten. He told a ten year old “I think you’re very beautiful.”
