At least he didn't sign a deal with Indiana for over 10m, he would've been greatly overpaid

I like Boris for the Jazz, as long as he doesn't take away too many minutes from Trey Lyles.

  5. If It's Only About Golden State's Coronation - RealGM Analysis
Anyway, we can put that to one side; we are all enlightened here. We know unrestricted free agency has been on the NBA’s books since 1988 and that Durant is empowered do whatever he wants in terms of choosing his workplace. We understand the athlete is a laborer and we should, at least on an abstract level, keep his interests in mind because it would be hypocritical not to. We can discern the strange and gross paternalism in arguments that players should stay with a franchise out of loyalty rather than leaving in search of their own happiness. We appreciate Kevin Durant’s talent but make an effort not to conceive of him solely as a collection of skills. We acknowledge his humanity. He is, like all of us, doing what he thinks is best.

We can do all this and still dislike Durant singlehandedly dismantling the Warriors’ strongest Western Conference rival while transforming the Dubs from a juggernaut into something we barely have the superlatives to describe. This move isn’t unprecedented. The 2008 Celtics were a sudden confluence of stars. LeBron James has been part of two Big Threes in Miami and Cleveland. Chris Paul ditched New Orleans to join Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. The Dwight Howard and Steve Nash Lakers experiment flopped, but they were angling for superteam status. Nearly every summer, one star or another either joins a title contender or turns an already pretty good squad into one.

Bobo has been on a heavy decline since the 2014 title, not from a talent standpoint just usual Boris lack of effort stuff.

Gasol might be even worse but I doubt it. Maybe Utah and Gobert revitalizes him.

I'm happy the Wolves aren't committing big money and long years to people. We have a solid core right now. I trust Thibs and I trust that every guy will take a step forward. Aldrich was a great pickup. I expect another wing player to sign and that's about it. Brandon Rush has been rumored.

I hope the Jazz are exciting this coming season! This rebuilding job along with the rebranding/refreshing their look is nice to see. A little funny that a handful of sports teams in the country are all redesigning their logo and stuff all this offseason.

Most under-discussed league topics: (1) the potential impact of the KD decision on the upcoming Wolves/Magic Finals; and (2) how the "super team" has effectively eliminated everyone but LeBron, Russ, and Buddy from the MVP race.

I really don't think Dwayne is the answer. JR is more durable, has more years left, and is great in his role as a 3 and d guy. As much as i don't want to but if we want to beat this new super team, we need to get bigger, and only way we can get somebody good is if we trade Love.

Love showed up big time even though he wasn't hitting his shot consistently, but His post up game wasn't working against the Warriors, and theres no way now hell be useful on the floor other than rebounds. Warriors are too disciplined and fast defensively to allow open threes. and he's not efficient enough posting up to make up for his lack of speed and rim protection on the defensive end.

kind of just speaking out of my ass and I'm sure this idea will be scrutinized. I know its probably impossible because money and they wouldn't accept. but id at least try to send Love, Shumpert, and some 1st rounders for Boogie and maybe mclemore. Love and Cousins are close to the same age and Kings make bad decisions all the time so I wouldn't put it past them :)

Cousins would just be the perfect counter because wed finally have a defensive presence in the paint, and wed get to slow the game down and none of their 4 all stars can guard him on the post. No way we can try to play their game and win. We gotta slow the game down and force them out of their comfort zone.

i don't think the kings aren't going to trade cousins if the cavs could get it done that would be a great counter to the warriors

Thing is I can't imagine Cousins coming back when he's a free agent in two years. Just can't fathom that. They're going to have to trade him for somebody so they don't get nothing out of it so why not at least try to hop on that train early. I know were a few years removed from Love as the leader on his own team and putting up huge numbers, but you could at least tell them hey this dude averaged 26pts, 12.5 rbs and 4.4 asts, and is a great 3 point shooter sometimes a couple years back when he wasn't playing third fiddle and also he's a champion and such. (maybe put some more effort into the phrasing of it than that though)
