I honestly never understood the appeal of cassettes in this day and age

Then again I used to say that about vinyl a few years ago and look at me now

So I've listened to Darkside more in the past few days than I have listened to BIOMY, GD and Happy Days combined. Such a good song, can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

  6. So funny I bought this one with no hesitation yet not the CA cassette. I’m so over the moon about this record for some reason?! I just wanna see how the layout differs. I’m hoping for great liner notes

Just a nostalgia collectible really for old people like me I think. The first music I seriously bought was every Queen album on cassette so I get the appeal

Now if 20 year olds are buying cassettes that I don't get lol.

I am curious to know about cassettes, like do people actually make an effort to listen to them?

    Prestigious Prestigious

I own two cassettes. One with some OK Computer demos and the other from B**** N** but that’s only because they were the only format those were released in. Cassettes fucking suck hah

I owned a couple cassettes back in the day as a kid. The Four Tops, Bush, and Pokémon 2BA Master are the only ones I remember though.

I didn’t own one of these and I threw the other cassette in the trash

  14. I have a small cassette tape collection. I like them. Sometimes I listen to them, but very rarely. I like making mixtapes that contain old 90s emo songs, and then listening to the tape because it feels like I'm back in that time period, if that makes sense. More so than just listening to them on Spotify. But really, I rarely listen to any of my tapes I've bought or made.

I have an original Dude Ranch cassette :-)

I used to record all my music on a 4-track cassette tape recorder, and I have been wanting to get another one of those and record that way again for fun. I also have a couple of covers I've recorded where I take a tape recorder out to a cemetery or wherever and I record my song there.

If you want to get real old school you need to record your mixtapes by playing tapes on one boom box and recording it on the blank tape on another boom box while it played

I still have so many random cassettes that I taped songs off pop radio before I even started listening to punk or alternative, basically I just listened to whatever radio played lol

Or like I would rank my top songs and just record mixes from the cds on the boombox haha

For our Halloween compilation on here, I went to the SLC cemetery in the middle of the night with my guitar and tape recorder, and I recorded a cover of “Grim Grinning Ghosts.” :-)

The only cassettes I still own are Green Day's Dookie (because that was my first album I ever got bought in 1994) and The Beatles Blue Album. I threw everything else out when I made the switch to CDs although I wish I still had all of them because I could have probably sold them for a few extra bucks now.

I can’t tell you why I bought Nine on cassette. I have no other cassettes.

  25. Definitely throw the idea out there in October. I'm sure other people will be down for that.
