Surprised at how much of this is Feldman produced. I'm actually not complaining, as I wasn't a fan of the two Pagnotta/Hollendar songs released.

Also, how are there 7 songwriters credited on Generational Divide? It's such a simple song, and only 49 seconds long! They must've kept the writing credits from the original full length version of the song.

And awesome that there's a song that just has Mark, Matt and Travis credited!

What do you think the pressing number is for the limited splatter LP? Looks like there's still nearly 3K left.

Cart Error: You can only add 2828 NINE ALBUM PREORDER - HOT SPLATTER LP (EXCLUSIVE, LIMITED EDITION) to the cart

There isn’t one. I assume the poster who said that hadn’t heard Happy Days yet, or perhaps one of the other tracks from NINE.

  10. Maybe they pressed 4,000? I can't imagine them selling 1,000 copies between now and midnight lastnight, but I could be totally wrong. Maybe they pressed around 5,000? Shrug.

I'm thinking 5K too which is pretty limited for a band of their size.

Did anyone who preordered get an email with the instant digital downloads for the singles?

  13. Folks I haven't been in the thread since maybe Tuesday. I'm listening to Darkside (the chorus is great) and I'm stoked we finally have the album news! Did I miss anything else major?

Darkside hit me the same way BTD did. It’s amazing.

I have found something I liked in each of these 4 songs and I’m excited for this album.

After really having mixed thoughts on Blame It On, it’s really grown on me super hard. Hearing it live twice really solidified it for me

Pre-ordered this thing on iTunes. Feels so good to have all of these tracks on the same album with the same artwork on my phone now.

Random thoughts this morning: I've only listened to "Generational Divide" two times total so far... no idea why. Also, I feel like California is still super underrated. I listened to it last night because I was pumped for this new one and realized there's not really a song on there that I don't like. Then it got to the deluxe part and I went, "Meh" and turned it off.

When listening to each individual track on their own I thought they were very different, but I listened to all 4 as laid out in the album and there was more of a flow or common “vibe” than I realized. I already like these four songs better than most of California. Starting to get excited for this, which is saying something because with Cali, I felt like I had outgrown this band.

Did the Cali and Cali DLX relisten recently and taking the best songs of each for a 10 song album would’ve been amazing. I still very much enjoy these albums but there were high highs and low lows.

EDIT: reminds me of Neighborhoods in that regard (highs/lows)

It is really interesting that they released BIOMY & HD but the rest of the songs were John Feldman produced. Wondering if they ran through tons of ideas with other folks and ultimately decided that John brings the best out of them in this era. I am really happy to know that Tim Pagnotta did two songs but not a significant amount of the album. I think those are fine and will add a good flow, but personally I do not want 4-8 of those on the whole album.

Wonder what the reception would have been if Darkside would have come first and then BIOMY. In recent memory I thought it was genius when Underoath released On My Teeth ( A classic UO jam that felt new but familiar) followed by Rapture ( a total departure showcasing how distinctly diverse the album would be.)

  24. Without knowing for sure, John Feldmann having a writing credit on a song doesn't guarantee he produced it.

No but a download link for the album art...because that’s what I wanted :(
