All the talk about being friends forever and all that. It's so sad what happened, twice.

I've listened to California a lot this weekend. Quick thoughts:

Favorites: Cynical, She's Out Of Her Mind, The Only Thing That Matters, No Future, California

    Least favorite: Los Angeles

I honestly love every song except LA. It's kinda weird. Talking it through with my friends, it became clear that we all disliked that song actually.

Solid album overall. It's definitely going to keep me from my current trend of only listening to Pup and podcasts in my car for a few weeks.

I'm all for She's Out of Her Mind being the next single. However, they shouldn't have even bothered including Sober on the album if it doesn't eventually become a single. I don't even necessarily mean that as a criticism of the song. It just seems like a song that's designed for radio play.

A couple of notes after a week of heavy listening...

Hey, I'm Sorry is a great track, best b-side since Not Now. Really has a strong sense of where their going musically.
Left Alone could have been on untitled, song closest to that period of Blink.
Sober should be the next single, could really make this album a mainstay on the charts.

Much keeps getting made of the quickness of the songwriting process on California. Enema was written in a period of two weeks. The speed in which something is written isn't exclusive to quality.

It literally was designed for radio. In that Feldmann track by track article, he said that Patrick Stump came into the studio and asked, "What would blink sound like on modern rock radio in 2016?" when he helped co-write that song.

Even if it doesn't hit radio, Sober being left out would make me sad

Yea, exactly. I hate to make the comparison, but I accept a song like First Date on TOYPAJ because I know the story behind it and why it exists. If it it ended up being a "deep cut," I'd resent it even more, if that makes sense. That's how I feel about Sober, in a way.

Here's hoping this album is gonna get blasted at lots of parties tomorrow. I've never rooted so hard for an album to have a great first week lol.

I work 8am-9pm but it will be blasting in my car. Have convinced 5 friends to buy the album and they've been blasting it too.

It's not that I don't like the song , it's more like the song should be popular to the point where it could play at a bar and people would all know it. If it gets buried, it kind of seems like a wasted attempt.

I really don't think I've sung along to an album this hard probably since A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.

So apparently a lot of youtube comments are people complaining that the chorus of "She's Out of Her Mind" is too similar to "The Rock Show" and it makes me really confused. It's amazing how little some people are able to grasp melodies and how much people are fishing to find things to complain about this album.

The songs are too similar because they're both about a girl. Obvious.

"This sounds too similar to an old song"

    Like what?

    Sorry for triple post btw

But are they about the SAME girl? Cause if so, then blink deserves all the hate for not switching it up and writing about a different girl.

They're both about the girl from Snake Charmer.

If Tom couldn't train her, she's clearly out of her mind.

  22. The only similarity I can find in both of those songs is their choruses both start with the same drums. Just those first 3 hits.

There's nothing similar it's just tom fanboys being dicks and retro only hipsters wanting to complain

Sorry to bust up the California talk guys, but does anyone have any good Blink bootlegs? I have been jamming the Mark, Tom, and Travis show, and would just like some real good quality bootlegs to listen to.
