Wow looks like this book is going to be quite something based on this chapter excerpt. A very honest, nothing-held-back assessment of his addiction and other mental health issues as they affected him circa Ghost Is Born, which isn't news but the way he relates his downward spiral is crushing.

I'll definitely be buying this, and while part of my motivation is just to see what new things (if anything) he has to say about Jay #1 and Jay #2, looks like Tweedy definitely has the chops as a writer to make it a compelling read regardless.

 

Fuck, Jon Hamm is moderating a discussion with Tweedy about the book next Saturday that's like four blocks from where I live but I just checked and it looks like the event sold out earlier today

Semi Wilco related but I went to see Liam Kazar perform (formerly of Kids These Days and currently in Marrow and Tweedy) and Jeff’s son Spencer was drumming for him. The kid is a very solid drummer. He looks way younger than he is but we’re actually the same age!

Even though they're a top 5 for me, I haven't loved either of the last two albums. Their album titles keep getting ballsier and ballsier though.

 

really love that song. the lead guitar part rules and jeff sounds great. he’s come a long way with production.

 

Love the single. Sounds a little like Jeff's recent solo stuff but with some Sky Blue Sky mixed in

 

the guitar textures are pure nels and mikael

 

Love Nels' lead lick just before the vocals come in

 

hell yeah. one of the best.
