Dexter fletcher is a good director based on rocketman but I don’t see why they want to keep making these movies with this weird Ritchie style. It just doesn’t work for me at all.

The classic Hollywood film noir, like the really pulpy hardboiled crime films, have really never been my cup of tea. It’s the foundation of basically everything since then that’s been labeled a “thriller,” and many of the best american directors have made a career out of tearing apart the noir archetypes just to build them up again, but the style and melodrama is often just way too much for me to ever feel invested

With the decade coming to a close I looked at my previous years' lists and I was surprised how many I only vaguely remembered. Korean dramas, microbudget indies with bearded men, and South American arthouse films in particular blend together within their genres.

Music, Gaming, Movies and Guys = Life

Been a few weeks since I lost when on a sizeable spending spree but really happy with what I got today especially since I am able to continue expanding my collection of the Warner Bros. Premium Collection with The Haunting and Soylent Green both of which now join King Kong (1933), Them!, Outland, 2010 and House of Wax (1953).

I don't like the idea of giving a numerical score to a film. What is the rubric?

I will talk to anyone about any film. If I go on Letterboxd or something else and see that someone gave The Lion King 8 out of 10 golden bananas, there is less to talk about. This is especially true if it is someone who gets very upset when someone disagrees with them about a movie.

For comparison, if I see someone logged a film, I can ask them what they thought. I don't know where the conversation is going to go and I am not coming into the conversation with my thoughts ready for rebuttal or agreement.
