Finally got my physical copy of California. So happy.

I also found this gem, well, I read it was discontinued, and I hadn't seen it since I bought it, and that was quite a while ago, so it was a cool surprise.

 

Yeah, Tom couldn't stand it not being renamed to just "The Tom Show" so they discontinued it instead.

 

My fiancé wants kings of the weekend played at our wedding. Lol here we go.

Best songs are Bored to Death, She's Out of Her Mind, (A-A-ANTISOCIAL) Los Angeles, Left Alone, California, and Brohemian Rhapsody. (if only for Travis's drumming, which is borderline erotic)

Great summer record. Will be playing this a lot.

Hey, does anyone have a Meet and Greet package on this tour?

I really wanna know why they ditched the tattoo on the girls shoulder. I know it was probably legal reasons, but I want to hear what the band has to say about it.

 

I preordered the album on iTunes so for me the cover still has the tattoo on it for Bored to Death since it was still there at that point but the rest of the songs don't lol

 

Cynical is really the only song I like on the whole thing. Brohemian Rhapsody should've been a full song. Travis sounds good, though.

 

Anyone else hearing a different mix in the lyric video of San Diego?

The final chorus of Home Is Such a Lonely Place is great.

Anybody want to take a crack at why? Travis Fucking Barker is why!

Nothing inspires me to get behind the kit more than this guy, so having new music from him is so damn fun.

 

Went to a huge BBQ yesterday and (again) took over control of the tunes as everyone was getting drunk and blasted California. Believe it or not, but drunk people love "Built This Pool". Must've played it 4 or 5 times throughout the night.

 

I don't know how anyone can say this doesn't sound like blink. Whether you were a tom fan or not, musically this sounds like blink.

 

Album is definitely a grower. I hope they make the song 'California' a single at some point. It has a nice "campfire ballad-like" vibe which would be a nice change of pace from the undoubtedly fast-paced singles and is eponymous with the album title and theme of California (unlike Home is Such a Lonely Place). My favourites: Bored to Death, She's Out of Her Mind, Left Alone, and California.

 

Can't go back to San Delongo, amIright??

"Natives" just came on shuffle between "She's out of Her Mind" and "Online Songs" and fuck Neighborhoods sounds bad. I never really shuffle so this was my first back to back to back comparison.
