I've watched a few vids during the tour of Wayne performing and the crowds seemed good for him

Maybe he had to be talked into playing the show the other day when blink had to play first or something

Yeah just because of his celebrity status doesn't excuse his responsiblity to his commitments. But heh who am I to say.

 

Wow, 8,000 people, what an awful show.

Jk, if that’s why he was upset, fuck him. You know how many bands would kill for that audience? Ungrateful.

If it wasn’t that, I am curious to know what it was.

 

Weather has been thunderstorms ALL day. Rainy mess. They’ve closed lawn with free upgraded seating.

Dunno exactly what Wayne said about the crowd, but it explains why he dipped.

 

I'm trying to keep quiet about this to protect my friend (and because I'm super paranoid about online stuff), but apparently Lil Wayne almost resulted in the tour getting cancelled to start with! Completely unrelated to the whole Ohio date and more because of ticket sales and backlash from the pairing. I'm guessing he's done. Crazy.

 

What a shit show.

 

Sales just seems crazy after seeing last nights show... a Wednesday show in "Boston" but really like an hour out of the city with no public transportation to it and absolutely looked sold out.

 

Someone had to have caught it on video.

 

Wow. We spent a long time dismissing annoying blink fans getting outraged over the pairing and to see the pairing becoming (or being) problematic sucks.

Last night wasn’t AS PACKED as the California tour, but there was a shit load of people there. As Brent mentioned, Wednesday night in the middle of nowhere with expensive tickets.

 

Boston is a huge market though. I imagine this tour could be struggling in certain markets. Regardless that's a BS reason if true.

 

At least people can bring their kids to the shows now without hearing the n-word

 

Yeah it is. When the Columbus thing happened I reached out to him and he had some interesting info. Apparently the tour was initially going to be 4 acts. Blink, Lil Wayne, and 2 groups TBD. My buddy seemed to indicate it was going to be 2 hip hop artists and 2 rock artists which would've probably made more sense.

I'm super curious what happens next. If All Time Low replaces that would be so rad.

8K at a venue that holds 20-30K is not that great..

I would love if ATL never opened a blink show ever again, I never got into them and seeing them once a few years ago was enough for me. Sucks they took a gamble on Lil Wayne and they’re getting backlash. I really enjoyed his set in CT and I don’t know a bunch of his songs.

 

I mean, I can't speak for everyone at last night's show but I did see a lot of parents who were not going into the seating area until after Lil Wayne's set. Not that Blink's was much cleaner (of course, no n word and f word every 2 words, but still).

 

But based on the weather? A performer can’t hold that against the show. If that’s the reason, that’s such an amateur dbag move. There has to be more. Which, tbf, it sounds like it’s more about the type of fans than the amount total.

 

Who wants to tell her the news?

 

Maybe Wayne feels like the crowds aren't really there for him. But everyone online seems to be saying the crowds are into it?

 

It’s ok Sarah. Blink doesn’t have anyone to go with as of now either.

 

I posted it earlier in the thread, but my buddy works in the industry and seemed to indicate that this was a significant worry before the tour started. I'm guessing a lot of it comes back to this. I'm sure for an established artist he feels out of his element, no?

 

8K is obviously a shit load of people, but I’m sure it looks way worse when you look out and see 12,000 empty seats and probably stings more if those people aren’t super into your set when you’re as established as him.

However, for tonight it was the rain and based off reviews it seems like a big crowd was there for him and into it in past shows.

Overall sucks for everyone involved.

 

Blink should be going on within 5-10 minutes. Curious if/how they address it.

 

Pretty sure Blink is already on.
