With all of this talk about the Lite and carrying around an OG Switch, I thought I’d mention this nifty little accessory I picked up for myself around Christmas.

The company is called Satisfye, and they have/probably still have available a bundle with this handheld grip and the sleek and slim case in the pictures. The Switch itself slides seamlessly into the grip, and it’s a serious game changer for playing handheld. The bundle also came with a USB C cable and a couple of Joy-Con thumb cover grips that feel much better than the default analog and c sticks.

I play handheld on the couch in our living room a lot, electing to throw something casual on the tv or let someone else have it entirely. The ergonomics of this thing basically wiped away all of the hand cramps I would get when I used to play in handheld mode.

Anyways, that’s my little shilling out for what I think is a game changing product, I promise I didn’t get paid to post this. I suggest taking the time to look around for different little third party accessories for the Switch if you haven’t, there’s a ton of cool stuff out there. For example, my white Joy-Cons with the colored buttons were a neat little pick up from Etsy.

just messing that genuinely looks awesome. i remember there was a case/grip combination on kickstarter and it was getting good reviews too. i do feel like i need a grip while playing handheld because my hand has started hurting a lot when im playing for long periods. thanks for the random rec

 

I like how in the ad for the switch lite, the kids ride their bike with their skateboards on their backs just so they can sit at the skatepark and play video games

 

Apparently Nintendo has submitted papers to the FFC regarding a SoC change in the regular switch, as well as added storage.

honestly if they don't increase the power, at the very least we should be seeing significant increases in battery life with the new shrunk die.

 

I think this is the smart way to do it. I don't think a Switch Pro is a good idea, unless the life cycle ends up becoming unusually long. It wouldn't be of much use anyway. EA is still not going to make AAA games for it and Nintendo's studios obviously don't need that extra power to dazzle people on Switch.

 

idk, bumping BOTW2 up to 1080p instead of 900p would be nice to me personally but OTOH I don't give that much of a shit.

I'm going to drop one spicy enchilada on you guys right now:
I think that the high resolutions on Xbox One X just highlight that the quality of the assets isn't quite there yet to be displayed at 4k. Like it's just easier to spot the jank.

Nintendo has asked to put some parts of the application (namely the test photos and internal photos) under "short-term confidentiality", which will expire in 6 months. well the switch can do neither lol

and the xbox can push way higher resolutions than 1080 at 60, so thankfully that's never a choice we have to make. I tried playing Rage and the IQ is just not there at 1080 for me.

 

I just can't bring myself to care that much about graphics or resolutions, as long as it looks better than N64 Zeldas and I can actually see what I need to do I'm happy

 

A good number of games don't run at 1080p/60 on Xbox One X

 

A Switch pro seems so premature to me. The console is selling well, Nintendo games look great on it (especially BOTW and Odyssey). There's not really a need for it right now.

Who cares if it can't run RDR2 lol
