Was looking at tickets for the Darien Lake show next week and it looks like they only sold maybe 2-3K seats plus whatever is is sold in the lawn (24K capacity venue) with some entire sections closed off for sale. They've also dropped the prices, originally the 100 and 200 levels were $146, they're down to $120 now. They also dropped the prices for the tickets in the back ($68 to $37) and lawn from ($40 to $24).

Did they just price this thing wrong from the start? It was the most expensive show coming to this venue this summer, for comparison I got tickets from Ticketmaster for the 311/Dirty Heads/Interrupters show at the same venue in the 200 level for $45, granted I know it's hard to compare those bands to Blink/Wayne but it just seems like these prices were crazy high.

There's 600+ tickets on Stubhub for the show, think I might ride it out and see how far the prices drop on the secondary market.

  6. because they've only played it live once or twice at this point, right? if they keep it on the setlist every night, they'll work out the kinks and get better at it. i'm sure they play "Anthem" a lot better now than they did when I saw them play it in April at the first Enema show because they've been playing it consistently. by the end of this tour, those Enema songs are going to be so solid. BIOMY could be just as solid, if not more, since all 3 of them actually wrote that song together.

Yeah I'd definitely say that they misjudged the price of tickets. I know for the first show in Hartford a single seated ticket before fees was originally the same price as two tickets combined before fees for the blink show held there in 2016.

Looks like they just added All Time Low for the rescheduled Columbus show to replace Lil Wayne in September. Might have to travel up there instead of Cincy show week before. Maybe this also means prices will come down more?

Waiting for @BTDandFeelingThis and @bradsonemanband reviews for the rest of the blink albums feels like waiting for that 10 year anniversary WDNTW acoustic AVA album and then it finally comes out a year later and only 40% complete.

  14. ENEMA OF THE STATE

    1. DUMPWEED - Despite some poorly aged lyrics, this is the perfect song to kick off Enema of the State. The opening riff still pumps me up every time I hear it, even 20 years later. Listening to this album really takes me back to junior high school, sitting in my parents garage for hours and learning each song on Enema on guitar. After I learned the entire album, I'd play through the whole thing. I could have been the guitarist on this new Blink tour! haha.

    2. DON'T LEAVE ME - One thing I like about Enema/TOYPAJ is there's almost an even back and forth between songs that Tom leads vs Mark leads. "Don't Leave Me" has great energy, maybe even more than "Dumpweed" did, which is awesome for a second track.

    3. ALIENS EXIST - My favorite part of this song is the big riff that comes in after the choruses. The bridge on this song is great too. Those are the only parts of this song that I really like though.

    4. GOING AWAY TO COLLEGE - This may be my favorite song on the album. Just a nice and sweet Mark love song that fits perfectly well with "Wasting Time" or "Josie." Whenever I hear this song it reminds me of watching the Urethra Chronicles on VHS in my parents basement over and over and over and over again.

    5. WHAT'S MY AGE AGAIN? - This is really the song that started it all for me. I saw the music video one day on MTV and was immediately hooked. The music video was out before the album was, so I had to wait a few days until it came out. But when it did, it was game over for everyone within earshot of my bedroom. The WMAA music video is a fun time too. A couple years ago, after I saw and talked to Travis at his vegan restaurant in LA, my little brother and I went to 3rd Ave and saw a couple of the locations they shot the music video. That was a lot of fun.

    6. DYSENTERY GARY - Another thing to show how obsessed I was with this album: I can still recite the track order without looking. Seriously, I was borderline obsessed with this album. However, this was always one of my least favorite songs on it. It too always reminds me of the Urethra Chronicles video. They had those montages on there with instrumental versions of some of the Enema songs. I can almost picture what's happening on the video when I listen to this song, and it's been a couple years since I watched that video, haha. The line "girls are such a drag" resonated with me a lot in junior high because I was an awkward Jnco wearing teenager and no girls liked me. Redundant statement?

    7. ADAM'S SONG - The drumming on this song is so great. You would never hear Scott playing these parts. To think that Enema of the State came out only 2 years after Dude Ranch really blows my mind. They completely skipped and went beyond the "next level" in terms of song writing, production, etc. and a huge part of that goes to Travis.

    8. ALL THE SMALL THINGS - My mom still can sing every word of this song because she heard it coming from my bedroom so often. I'd be down in the basement blasting this song and playing it on my guitar constantly. It's such a great pop punk song. I love the synth part in the choruses, and Mark's vocal harmonies in the last chorus. It's cool discovering new little things in songs you've heard 800 million times.

    9. THE PARTY SONG - This song's aight, I guess. Never really thought it was anything special. Although when I was younger I thought it was funny that the girl wasn't wearing underwear because why would anyone not wear underwear?!?!? haha.

    10. MUTT - I remember begging my mom to rent American Pie for me and my friends to watch because I knew Blink had a cameo in it. It got me so stoked when "Mutt" appeared in the movie too. This song only reminds me of that movie. I always thought the "he took the seat off his own bike because they that it felt" line was hilarious.

    11. WENDY CLEAR - This is a hidden gem on here. They should play this at every show. It's all-around fantastic.

    12. ANTHEM - I like part 2 better. :-)

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

After some delays(aka real life stuff) Brad and I are resuming our track by track.

    Enema Of The State:

    Dumpweed:
I am honestly torn on this song. On one hand, instrumentally it’s classic blink, and the guitars shred. It’s a great opener, and it’s iconic. On the other hand, the lyrics have really not aged well and are kind of bleh. I usually tend to skip this song these days if I’m shuffling which is odd because it used to place highly for me.

    Don't Leave Me:
Classic blink, Classic Mark. This was one of my first favorite songs by the band, and one that still gets me singing along any time I hear it. It’s so simplistic but it’s awesome.

    Aliens Exist:
Middle of the road song, but I would be lying if I didn’t say i had a fondness for it; plus me and my friends always had fun quoting “hey mom there’s something in the back room” in toms voice. The chorus is also so dumb but it’s super damn catchy.

    Going Away to College:
This is one of my two favorite songs on the album and definite top tier blink Everything about this song is great, Mark sounds awesome, and it’s catchy as hell. One of my most returned to blink songs and a constant top 10 track.

    What’s My Age Again?:
Another great song, and one of the big singles. This song will always get me singing along, and there’s some videos of me drunk singing this on karaoke in a bar on one of my friends computers i am sure. It’s no Going Away To College, but its up there.

    Dysentery Gary:
An OK song, with a nice bridge by Mark. I like the guitars on this one a lot, and I like Mark’s bridge. It’s considered a classic, but I will admit there’s plenty of songs on this album I choose over it

    Adams Song:
Another classic blink song, and one that holds a lot of memories for me. This is one that is very popular with the fan base, and it’s not a mystery why. It’s also to me where blink started touching on more darker lyrics a bit. The guitar is classic...(so much so that they reference it a lot these days hiyooo)

    All The Small Things:
This is oddly one of my least favorite blink songs. Not because I consider it bad or anything, but because it’s one of the big ones that I heard so many damn times and they play it every show and everybody knows it. Also because it’s kind of a bit silly. That being said I’d be lying if I didn’t say I didn’t sing along with it at parties back in the day, or when they play it live. Or with a huge group of friends at my wedding as @bachna84 can attest to.

    The Party Song:
Another one in the boat of dumpweed. Love it musically, thing the lyrics haven’t aged well. I don’t skip it as often as I do Dumpweed when it comes on shuffle, but it isn’t one I go choose to play very often.

    Mutt:
Can’t listen to this without thinking of the American Pie era. It’s kind of song the lines of party song for me. I respect its nostalgia, but it’s one of my lower level tracks on the album.

    Wendy Clear:
Such an underrated jam. This is my other favorite from this album, and I wish they’d play it a lot more live. It’s catchy, it sounds great, the lyrics are good. Just an overall jam of a song and top tier blink, again.

    Anthem:
This is a decent closing song, and a pretty good track. It kind of showcases Tom still being a bit weaker than Mark still back in these days, and it doesn’t hold a candle to its successor on the next album, but it’s a decent finish to an otherwise good album.

Overall this album still holds up and has a lot of weight with me. Mark is still the stronger of the two on this album, but Tom is slowly growing. This album is probably about my 3rd favorite in their discography and one I return to a lot.

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

Take Off Your Pants And Jacket:

    Anthem Part Two:
Love this song, and was also one of the first blink songs I heard. Also had it as my ringtone back in the flip phone days in high school. Great opening track, and that intro is so damn sweet with a great riff (so much that Tom reused it in Everything’s Magic.) When I throw this album on and hear that opening, I’m pumped every time.

    Online Songs:
SUPER underrated song. This is one of my all time favorite songs, beaten out only by Feeling This. It’s a perfect Mark song, and everything from the guitars to the production and the drums are great. Mark sounds amazing on this song. To my knowledge they rarely if ever have played this live and I think that is a sin.

    First Date:
This one sits in the same boat as ATST for me. It’s ok, I respect how big of a song it was; but it needs to go from the setlist and it’s not one I choose to listen to besides full album plays much these days. That being said again, I would be lying if I said I don’t sing song to it still and did so many times with friends back in the day. Also my wife used to quote the lyrics to me when we first got together so it holds a little more weight with me because of that.

Happy Holidays, You Bastard- Not much to say about it. Joke song, bleh. I wish they’d stop shoehorning it in live. Replace it with Generational Divide forever, they’re roughly the same length.

    Story of a Lonely Guy-
I like this song. It’s not the best on the album, but it’s not the worst. Marks “ba da, badada” always gets stuck in my head, and the chorus is catchy. I know this song gets a lot of hate but I don’t really get why. Middle of the road song, but alright in my book.

    The Rock Show:
One of the big singles, but unlike ATST and First Date I still enjoy this one. It’s a jam, plain and simple. It’s catchy, the guitar riffs on it are great, and it’s a fun one to sing along with. My first time seeing it live was actually seeing +44 and they covered it, so it was kind of a cool experience I still hold on to.

    Stay Together For The Kids:
I LOVE this song. This is where Tom really starts to shine although they technically co wrote it. That guitar opening is iconic, as well as the main chorus riff. The lyrics are dark and deal with this serious subject matter that’s personal to not only Tom but a large amount of people. Yet it’s somehow still super catchy and fun to sing along with. This was actually the very first blink song I heard, and the one to hook me into the band and make me go back and listen to everything they’d ever done. One of my favorites on the album, this song should be a set staple.

    Rollercoaster:
Good enough song. It’s not great but it’s not bad. Certainly a monstrously catchy song in its own right, I do enjoy listening to this one. The chorus is great too, and the instrumentals on this one are quintessential blink. Deserves its props for sure.

    Reckless Abandon:
Another shining moment for Tom. I love the static crunchy intro to this, and when the song gets going it doesn’t stop. The chorus is catchy as can be, and the riffs are fantastic. One of the top songs on the album, it’s one that I always include on any attempt to hook someone into liking this band, because more often than not it does the trick. This was also one of my friends and i’s party anthems back in college.

    Everytime I Look For You:
CRIMINALLY underrated song. One of my absolute favorite blink songs over their entire discography, and I’m pretty sure they’ve never played it live. The song rips, it’s catchy as hell, the lyrics are great, and the trade off vocals between Tom and Mark are amazing and something I always wanted them to do more of. Fantastic song that should be a live staple.

    Give Me One Good Reason-
Musically this song is great, but lyrically Tom kind of back slides on this one. I’ve never really been a fan of the lyrics on this one and have almost always considered it one of my least favorite blink songs.

    Shut Up-
Middle of the road song for me. I like it, but it’s just kind of there. I will always love the “I think it’s time for me to leave” bridge though, the best part of the entire song. The rest of it gets a big ol meh.

    Please Take Me Home-
One of the best closers for these guys, this song is awesome. Tom shines on this one, and I used to play the heck out of this song when I was in high school. An overall great song, it’s a good way to end the album. That is until...

    The B-Sides!

    Time To Break Up:
Back in the Limewire Days this song was always mislabeled for me as What Went Wrong. I like this song, and it could have replaced Shut Up or Good Reason on the album. I’m not upset that it’s not on the album though.

    Mothers Day:
Ugh. Not a fan of this joke song at all. Skip.

    What Went Wrong:
Amazing song that should have been on the main track list. Tom fucking kills this song, and the acoustic guitar is a great touch. Always loved this song, and I really feel like sometimes it gets overlooked. The lyrics on this one are good, and the emotion behind it helps drive them along. It’s a catchy song too.

    Fuck A Dog:
    Nooooooooo. Skip.

    Don’t Tell Me It’s Over:
I never got too much into this song, probably because it wasn’t until after the hiatus I found out this one existed. It’s not bad, but What Went Wrong and Time To Break Up are better.

    When You Fucked Grandpa:
Skip this one as well. Hoppus dominates the albums but good lord, Delongs wins the b-Side round. This song is bleh.

Overall a great album and a good progression of their sound. It’s my second favorite blink album, and one I listen to a LOT. Mark still holds this one up the most but Tom clearly shows his progression on this one too.

TAKE OFF YOUR PANTS AND JACKET

    1. ANTHEM PT 2 - Carousel, Pathetic, Dumpweed, Anthem pt 2... This band knows how to pick an opener!

    2. ONLINE SONGS - The first of the few underrated jams on TOYPAJ. It's so strange to me how little of TOYPAJ the band plays live. This song should be played every night. It's funny that teenagers now probably don't know what "screen name" means.

    3. FIRST DATE - Classic music video, but the song doesn't really do it for me anymore.

    4. HAPPY HOLIDAYS, YOU BASTARD - Short and kinda funny. I don't skip this one even though it's in the bottom tier.

    5. STORY OF A LONELY GUY - This song's chorus sounds so similar to the chorus of "No One Else" by Weezer. I can't help but sing "I want a girl who laughs for no one else" during the chorus of this song, haha. The song's good, but it's forgettable and definitely in the bottom half of the album.

    6. THE ROCK SHOW - I remember running home from school so I wouldn't miss the premiere of this music video. Last time I was in LA, I went to a couple of the spots where they filmed it. I'm a dork, but it was a lot of fun. This song is so good. It belongs on every "best of Blink" mix/playlist. I'm still not sick of it.

    7. STAY TOGETHER FOR THE KIDS - The "Adam's Song" of TOYPAJ. It's even in the same spot in the tracklist. This song hit home when I was a kid because my parents were verrrry freshly going through their divorce when this album came out. I still love the song even though it takes me back to those shitty days.

    8. ROLLER COASTER - One of the other underrated songs on here. The way this song hits... mannnn...

    9. RECKLESS ABANDON - Oops, I forgot this one originally... haha. This is a great Tom track! Definitely one of his best on TOYPAJ. Although I actually think this song is a little overrated among Blink fans. Shrug.

    10. EVERYTIME I LOOK FOR YOU - My favorite TOYPAJ track, and another one of the underrated ones. Funny how most of Blink's most underrated songs are actually Mark songs... This song still gets played constantly by me. Top 10 (if not 5) fav Blink songs.

    11. GIVE ME ONE GOOD REASON - One of my least favorites on here. The only thing I like about it really is "Give me one good reason why we need to be like them." That line always resonated with me because I grew up in a town with a gazillion Mormons and even in the couple years I was "active", I never fit in with that crowd. And holy shit, Tom's voice is peak Tom voice on this song, haha.

    12. SHUT UP - An underrated Mark song again, but not one of my favorites. It reminds me of that little clip on Urethra Chronicles 2 when Mark is recording vocals and sings "HOME!" super flat.

    13. PLEASE TAKE ME HOME - The only underrated Tom song on here, and one of my favorite TOYPAJ songs. It's a bit odd for a closer though. This song would have fit nicely on the Box Car Racer album. There's definitely hints of pre-BCR all around TOYPAJ though.

    14. TIME TO BREAK UP - Always loved the hell out of this song, and all of the "real" bonus songs.

    15. MOTHERS DAY - This song's the best of the joke bonus songs, which isn't saying too much, but it still kinda makes me chuckle if I'm in the mood for it.

    16. WHAT WENT WRONG - Somewhere I have a recording of my buddy and I playing this song live in 2001 or 2002, haha. I always loved this song. It was cool seeing Tom perform it live when I saw them on the Pop Disaster Tour.

    17. FUCK A DOG - I always forget about the pirate parts. Skip.

    18. DON'T TELL ME IT'S OVER - I had the green version when TOYPAJ came out so I knew this song and the next one really well, compared to the other bonus tracks. I didn't have those other ones until I was able to download them from Napster or whatever was popular at the time. I really love just about everything on this song. I think I like it more than "Time To Break Up" even.

    19. WHEN YOU FUCKED GRANDPA - Never really thought this song was funny, even as an immature human child. Skip.
