Finally they announced it. The rumor mill was becoming annoying. I figured it was about to happen given that Pokemon is coming soon.

I can't help but wish the d-pad and joystick were flipped. The Switch just isn't comfortable for me as a lifetime PS guy.

 

It had basically been confirmed by months. There were for examples vendors promoting accesories at E3. Also some Japanese newspapers that only report on rumours when they are very much sure it's true wrote about it. What allegedly has been wrong all along is the rumor of a very fancy Switch. According to those Japanese news reports, that's actually just the Switch follow up.

As someone who went from a GCN to a 360 to a Xbox One, I can never fully get used to the way PS does it whenever I play my PS4, haha.

 

Does anyone know if they're talking about screen size? Because if it isn't smaller and not too expensive, I might just get one lol

 

5.5 inch screen compared to 6.2 inch screen

 

I guess that makes a lot of sense, but makes it less likely that I will get one. Which is fine, because I really shouldn't. This obviously is meant for (Japanese) mobile gamers that so far refused to upgrade from 3DS (and Vita) as well as kids.

A big segment of Pokemon and Animal Crossing players fall in either group.

Yeah but you can get joy con with d-pads. Either modded ones with all the functionality on like Etsy (which are about 100$), or officially licensed ones by Hori which don't have rumble (which the Lite doesn't have either), which go for about 25$.

People will still do it lol but I probably would not recommend it just for the d-pad

lmao a total of three days after I buy my switch they announce a new one hahaha

it is pretty! I really appreciate playing on the big screen and being able to have friends come over and play though, so I am not upset about it. I hope they release more joy con colors with similar colors

It’s odd that the Lite can’t “Switch”. Just announce an upgraded switch. I guess this will be for kids mostly. Seems like it would be tough to break.

This will sell well when Pokémon comes out for all the people that had a 3DS but never upgraded to Switch

 

It’s cool, but I don’t really have a need for it. As one of the few that almost exclusively plays mine through a television, the switch I have now is perfect. It only looks like 3-4 inches shorter anyhow?

 

That’s like 60% of reason they made this lol

*Looks sturdier so better for kids
*Appeals more to people who prefer handhelds
