Just came home after a night of drinking with friends. Ended up at a diner BLASTING California in the parking lot with 5 friends who hadn't heard the album. "Sober" got everyone's attention and we were all jumping around like we were 15 again.

I love everything about this album right now.

Nope - I feel the same way. Going from Tom to Skiba is the vocal equivalent of going from a Vespa to a Harley.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

The beginning of the 2nd verse of The Only Thing is a pretty much note-for-note homage to a Reel Big Fish song. Can't remember if there's more

I heard that too and had no idea it was on purpose! That's awesome.

    Things have changed.

Bauhaus - "She's Out Of Her Mind"
The Cure's "The Head On The Door" - "She's Out Of Her Mind"
Sex Pistols - "God Save the Queen" - "No Future"
    Rancid's "Life Won't Wait" - "No Future"
Bad Religion's "No Control" - "Kings of the Weekend"
    The Cure - "San Diego"
Reel Big Fish (melodic homage) - "The Only Thing That Matters"

    Probably more!

Finally got around to listening to this album - I will never not like what this band puts out!!! Mark is the voice of Blink IMO.

Home Is Such A Lonely Place, Tennage Satellites and Left Alone are my favourite songs so far, but the only one that did really do too much for me was Los Angeles (even that had a good second half!). Great album, i'd give it a 7.5 / 8 out of 10, or whatever.

Same. I will always love the blink from my childhood, and I'll admire everything Tom contributed to the band. But this album felt refreshing on so many levels. This band felt new again. It gave me the same feeling of hearing Dude Ranch or Enema again.

I appreciate everything Tom has done, but Matt is my choice moving forward. I truly would feel they would be taking a step back with Tom.

Well, I guess this is growing up!!

I'll never get over how fucking good Left Alone is. The rhythm, the dual vocals on the chorus, Matt's belting it out, the drumming during the bridge, the line "break me down, I'm not afraid of you." One of my favorite blink songs ever.

Yep, easily the most catchy tune on the record for me. So damn good.

There's the Marilyn Manson line in "The Only Thing That Matters"!

This may be an unpopular opinion, I don't know, but I wish Travis would stop commissioning artists for their album covers. I really like this album, but after hearing it, the artwork doesn't sit well with me even more.

I really don't let artwork get to me too much. I just wanted to nitpick.

Maybe if California was a better record than Self-titled.

    Which it isn't.

This album just keeps growing on me. Probably in the minority here but it would have been nice to have a single Elevator-style song that Tom has a verse on

Day 2 and still No. 1 on every chart I'm looking at. Oh man I'm so anxious to know the numbers this does.

This is a thing that in 2004 I wouldn't have cared about.

In 2016, as an an aging guy who has to watch why he eats and get regular exercise, this is surprisingly important.

Still think Cynical is my favorite, but it is so hard to choose. But Skiba's chorus there is probably one of my favorite moments on the album, especially since we saw him recording that on Instagram awhile back.
