I'm embarrassed to admit that I never knew this was a movie. It's one of my favorite sci-fi novels, though. So I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.

The first two Raimi movies did very well critically, for good reason. The second Webb movie did poorly critically, for good reason, though both were bad.

Sorry, this is negative and not totally in the field of the initial discussion. But those movies pain me.

As someone who feels the opposite and has been through this conversation a lot, I can tell you that this doesn't really fit the topic at hand, lol. All three Raimi films did better financially than ASM, and 1-2 did better critically (and SM3 not a massive step lower).

Now, if you preferred both Webb films to all three Raimi films, like I do, THAT would be worthy of this thread. :spiderman:

Not really relevant to the thread but I also love Tusk. Did y'all see the trailer for Yoga Hosers? Looks fucking batshit

  5. I know the thread is about films that were critically panned, but TASM came up so I just thought I'd mention it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I know plenty of people feel a certain way about those movies, usually those with more attachment to the comics. Like yourself.

  6. Yep. I'm actually willing to admit it looks terrible, but I'd still really like to see it haha

    Tusk was great.

I unironically enjoyed The Happening. It's been a while since I've seen it though.

In his review, Roger Ebert said there might come a time when that movie is viewed as a milestone in neo-surrealism.

As for a movie pick that comes to mind for myself for this thread... Waterworld

I'm glad he was able to see something redeeming in it. There were VERY few positive things said about it by critics.

I still really want to watch this movie. Been hoping it pops up on Netflix.

Let's Be Cops was the good kind of stupid mindless comedy when critics all thought it was the bad kind.

Both of the ...Has Fallen movies. (Olympus and London)

Olympus was better received, but I think they're both really good.
