I feel embarrassed a passing by car may have heard me listening to that neck deep song. They suck.

 

They just put a video up on Facebook promoting the tour with clips from the friends & family show. Damn, the stage production looks massive for this.

 

That Waterparks song tops it for me.

 

I was wondering why you'd inflict this info on this thread until I remembered they were touring with blink haha. Obviously I HAD to go look it up and I might have liked it when I was 15 but man I really hate that pop punk sound now. Thanks a lot ya jerk!

They're one of the bigger bands in the music scene and are currently opening for Blink-182.

Just off a quick search, all the members were accused of being predatory toward minors but they kicked out the guitarist as the fall guy

so what if they're popular?

chorus is a really rich community asset and a great platform, why lend its resources to amplifying the noxious elements? i'm uninvolved with pop punk world so i've only ever heard of them thru this site, and i feel like that's kind of evidence in favor of simply ignoring them. deplatforming etc works, this community doesn't need to have a damn thing to do with garbage if it doesn't want. i admire the hard work done here, but i scratch my head at how much attention is paid to the bullshit

 

Tickets to the MA show are free on VetTix... so likely going now.

 

The other members and manager mentioned here aren't in the band either at this point. AFAIK, the lead singer's the only one left and he wasn't involved in that incident. (He's said some really dumb shit on twitter though.)

 

What is VetTix?

 

Site that gives free tickets (outside of a flat $15 fee for transfer of tickets) to events. I got 3 second row right in the middle of the runway to Taylor Swift last year, among many other shows.

For (as you may imagine), Active Duty and veterans of service. They do it for first responders now, too.

 

It's one metric I use when deciding what I post about.

Because I draw a line differently than you on what I write about, when, and why. Some would argue, for quite a few reasons, I should "deplatform" Blink-182 as well. Some bands I don't post about, some I do, and it shifts and changes based on different factors including how I'm feeling that day or if it seems or feels newsworthy. A new song from the band going on tour with Blink feels newsworthy enough today and I wanted to make fun of those lyrics.
