Pretty sure Denver is the only date doing this based on the posted schedules. Correct me if I'm wrong though. Anyways, 9 times out of 10, I would agree with you. And playing festivals like this really doesn't get you much exposure since people generally watch the bands they came to see instead of checking out new stuff. However, my band had a bit of an "in" on this battle, and we kinda skipped the voting process. Plus, we've only been around for a year and have shared the stage with only smaller "notable" acts. We aren't in a place where we can be requesting larger club shows that will actually help with the exposure we want. So winning this kind of competition is a large press kit item that will make us look better when requesting future shows. That said, it would also be nice to say we played with all these great bands...kinda a buck list item.

Was the Uproar Festival a Rockstar tour as well? I remember I went in 2013 and the bill was stacked with Janes Addiction, Alice in Chains, Coheed & Cambria and Circa Survive.......I'd guess there were barely 4,000 people there in a 15,000 venue.

They get really good bills, they're just awful at promoting it.

I saw Uproar in 2011 and it was pretty packed. The line up was super stacked though as well, it was awesome.

If I remember Avenged Sevenfold headlined, then it was 3 Days Grace, Seether, Bullet:heart:, Escape the Fate, Sevendust:heart: and Hell and Highwater:heart:. Probably forgetting a few more.

@BTDandFeelingThis bought a ticket for every song he likes from each band.

Battle of the bands shows have always felt lame to me. I've always felt like bands should be supporting each other in the scene, not competing. My band has only played 2 battles and they were both just to help out promoters we knew who had bands drop last minute. The first one the prize was like 500 bucks so we decided that in the chance that we won we were just gonna split the money between all the bands haha. I mean, I get the concept, just not a fan.

Anyone figure out Circa Survive’s setlist? I think I’m gonna end up going to this since it’s dirt cheap and all the bands I want to see are after 7 so I’m not stressed about making it from work

Still trying to figure out if my friend can get us pit comps, but even if it doesn't work out, I might grab a seat for $30+fees. I don't have much else going on that day, so it might be fun, especially since getting out of the venue won't be that bad.

All the bands did great tonight. The Used and SWS did the best I’ve seen them do. The pit was pretty full. They closed off the lawn and a lot of seats were empty but still more people then I expected. TSSF said they would be back soon.

Honestly the crowds were better but they were always dull live. Parker always stood in one spot / they had low energy. Small venues kinda compensated for it but i don’t think the difference was big at all. At least they sound tighter now.

Yeah I was about to say the same thing. I seen them on that GK tour and had just gotten really into them and they were real boring compared to TWY and PBC. Slightly better than they are now but they’ve just never been an energetic band. The crowds were always nuts though so that’s something at least.

That still may have been the best lineup top to bottom I've seen so far...TWY, PBC, Transit, TSSF, and Into It Over It. Transit was also still good at this point.

Hot take: Transit we’re always good. Joyride and most of Young New England slaps

Maybe I can get behind Joyride being decent but you lost me on Young New England. Listen & Forgive will always be a classic album though.

Listen and forgive is great but they did go downhill after that, plus there was the whole #GFYTN debacle that was hilarious and a super bad look for them.

I went to the first date of that tour. It was an excellent show. Middle Class Rut, Danko Jones, and New Politics on the side stage as well.

But yeah, there were maybe 5,000-6,000 people there by the time AIC hit the stage. It was a ghost town during Circa and Coheed.

They both did, it really did just take that Slayer headlined Mayhem and the AIC Coheed Uproar to kill those, sometimes it only takes one year.

Slayer would’ve made a good headliner, but having King Diamond coheadlining didn’t help at all and then cutting it down to one side stage with no one really important on that stage, it wasn’t very good. Hell, who knows if Warped Tour would’ve kept going it it weren’t for the 2017 tour’s low attendance
